Job summary

KBR, Inc. invites an experienced Technical Advisor - Packages (Mechanical) to join our team. The role focuses on packaged equipment design, data sheet preparation, and technical guidance across FEED and project phases.

We expect 15+ years in mechanical engineering with refinery/petrochemical exposure, and comfort with global travel for project support and field commissioning when required.

Qualifications

• BE / B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 12+ years progressive experience in packaging equipment engineering.
• Exposure to refinery and petrochemical industries; offshore LNG/FLNG desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design and specify datasheets and specifications for packaged equipment.
• Perform technical bid evaluations.
• Review vendor drawings and coordinate technical information with vendors and engineers.
• Witness factory acceptance tests at vendor facilities when required.
• Provide field commissioning and startup support as needed.
• Guide engineers in preparation of datasheets and package specifications.

Technical Advisor - Packages

Technical Advisor – Mechanical (Packaged Eqpt)

Under broad direction, functions as a technical specialist who makes decisions and recommendations independently based on extensive engineering and related activities of the company.

Excellent spoken and written communication skills in English

Negotiates critical and controversial issues with top-level engineers and officers of other organizations and companies.

Willing to travel globally and undertake short term assignment with aboard offices and project site as needed to support projects.

Skills

Skills are typically acquired through a graduation in Mechanical or allied Engineering and a minimum of 12 years related experience, with average experience of 15+ years. Exposure to Refinery and Petrochemical industry is a must. Offshore and LNG / FLNG projects is desirable

Incumbent will be responsible for specification, selection and services relating to Process units like large Gas Compression systems and accessories, Utility packaged units including Process & Utility Packages including Boilers, Refrigeration Systems, Air Separation Systems, Large Water Treatment Systems, etc Procesa Systems, etc Familiarity with Material handling systems is desirable. Exposure to engineering of technology packages and FLNG/LNG and Offshore facilities is desirable

Additional duties

• Excellent understanding of design of Package Systems with exposure to FEED stage is desirable
• Good understanding of Process flows / PIDs, Schematics
• Guide engineers in Preparation of datasheets, Specifications for packages
• Perform technical bid evaluations.
• Vendor drawing review and engineering coordination of technical information with vendors and company engineering specialists.
• Experience in witnessing factory acceptance tests at Vendor facilities is desirable.
• Field commissioning and startup support when required will be an added advantage.
• Technical Skills acquired with experience includes some of the following
• BE / B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent engineering field
• At least 12 years of progressive experience, specifically in engineering of packaged equipment.
