Job summary

Atlas Copco in Chennai, India is seeking a Package Engineer with 5–7 years of experience to lead design and coordination of process packages. You will prepare P&IDs, RFQs, and assist in EPC meetings, coordinating with design, procurement, QC and production teams to ensure design conformance and timely delivery.

The role emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration, documentation control, and supporting pre-order engineering for proposals. On-site execution with global best practices is expected.

Qualifications

  • 5–7 years of experience as a Package Engineer.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Knowledge of Chemical Injection Packages, Tanks, Vessels, Instruments, Process Packages, and Structures design.
  • AutoCAD and 3D model review proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare engineering documents including P&IDs and component datasheets.
  • Prepare RFQs for long lead items, evaluate sub-vendor offers.
  • Review 3D models against client specs and drawings.
  • Schedule documents and RFQs, attend EPC meetings.
  • Coordinate with outsourcing partners, design engineers and draftsperson.
  • Coordinate with project, procurement, QC and production engineers.
  • Review client comments and issue resolution sheets.
  • Attend technical clarification meetings with project engineer.
  • Address production issues during fabrication.
  • Explain package designs during Kick-off meetings and scope definitions.
  • Support proposal engineering during pre-order engineering.
  • Record and manage Engineering Change Requests.

Your role

As a Package Engineer, your mission is to [deliver process design calculation, 3D Model review and inter-diciplinary coordination]. You will report to[Christober Yovel - Office Manager].


Responsibilities


  • Preparation of Engineering documents such as Process and instrumentation diagrams, Component datasheets and other auxillay documents.

  • Preparation of RFQs for long lead items, sub vendor offers evaluation and approval.

  • Review of 3D Model against Client specification, PIDs, Standard drawings and other relevant documents.

  • Scheduling of documents, RFQs, attending EPC meetings etc.

  • Coordination with Outsourcing partners, Design Engineers and Draftsperson.

  • Coordination with Project Engineer, Procurement Engineer, QC Engineer and Production Engineer.

  • Review client comments and make Comment resolution sheets.

  • Attending technical clarification meetings with Project Engineer.

  • Attending issues from production during fabrication.

  • Explaining the design of pacakges during Kick Off meetings and scope defining discussions.

  • Supporting and providing technical deliverables for the Proposal Engineer during Pre-Order Engineering.

  • Responsible for smooth interdisciplinary coordination.

  • Responsible for the Design and Engineering of the packages.

  • Responsible for the specification compliance to the design in the aspect of Safety and ergonomics.

  • Responsible to provide EAC for each project.

  • Responsible to record Engineering Change Requests pertaining to Projects.


Qualifications

You have 5 - 7 years of experience, working as a Package Engineer.



  • Degree in Mechnical Engineering

  • Knowledge in Chemical Injection Packages, Tanks, Vessels, Instruments, Knowledge of Process packages, Design of Structures

  • AutoCAD, 3D Model Review, Process Design Calculations, Team Management, Inter-Disciplinary Coordination.
