Allsec AI, an AI-native CX platform, is hiring a founding engineering lead in Chennai. You will join a pre-revenue startup with no engineering team, take a working demo to a production-grade platform, and build a cross-functional engineering function.

Reporting to the India Operational Head, you will collaborate with a US-based Technical Consultant, shape architecture, oversee cloud infra across Digital Ocean, Azure, and GCP, and drive hiring as the team scales.

Qualifications

• 6–10 years of total experience in software engineering.

• Strong AI/ML model deployment knowledge needed.

Responsibilities

• Inherit, extend, and scale the existing tech stack toward a production-ready platform.
• Establish production-grade engineering standards, tooling, and processes.

• Own and evolve multi-cloud infra (DO, Azure, GCP).
• Lead recruitment and mentor engineers as the team grows.

Founding Engineering Hire Build from the Ground Up

Allsec AI is an AI-native, digital-first, omni-channel CX managed services company. We help enterprises unlock scalable, efficient, and real-time customer experience operations through agentic AI, intelligent workflows, and automation. We are redefining outsourcing by delivering packaged, outcome-led services that eliminate traditional contact Centre inefficiencies.

About This Role

This is a founding engineering hire. You will be joining a pre-revenue, product-stage company with no existing engineering team in place, which means you will be responsible for taking our base demo product and building it into a production-grade platform.

You will work in close collaboration with a US-based Technical Consultant who will provide architectural direction and high-level technical guidance. For day-to-day operations, delivery execution, and team coordination, you will report to the India Operational Head.

As the company scales, you will build and lead a cross-functional team of engineers and own the India engineering operations end to end. If you are looking for a role where every decision you make has direct, visible impact.

Reporting Structure

Key Responsibilities

• Inherit, extend, and scale the existing technology stack (backend, frontend, DevOps, data pipelines, and ML/AI systems) building on a working demo product toward a production-ready platform.


• Establish production-grade engineering standards, tooling, and development processes, taking the codebase from demo quality to enterprise-ready.


• Define and own a scalable architecture for real-time, high-volume CX operations.

Product & Infrastructure

• Own and evolve the existing multi-cloud infrastructure (Digital Ocean, Azure, GCP) improving reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency.


• Extend and optimise existing integrations across multiple LLM providers, STT/TTS systems, AI agents, NLP pipelines, and vector databases.


• Ensure system observability, security, redundancy, and performance from day one.

Team Building

• As the first engineering hire, identify and help recruit subsequent technical team members.


• Mentor and develop engineers as the team scales; enforce best practices and foster technical excellence.


• Contribute actively to hiring decisions and help shape the engineering culture of the organisation.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

• Translate technical direction from the US-based Technical Consultant into executable roadmaps.


• Collaborate with CX implementation and QA functions to align technology with delivery operations.


• Actively participate in architectural decisions and long-term technical planning.

Requirements

• 6–10 years of total experience, with at least 1 year in a tech or team lead capacity.


• Deep experience with one or more full-stack frameworks (e.g., Node.js + React, Django + Vue, or equivalent).


• Strong understanding of AI/ML model development and deployment – LLMs, transformers, RAG pipelines.


• Proven experience with cloud platforms (Digital Ocean, Azure, and/or GCP) and infrastructure as code (Terraform/CDK).


• Familiarity with prompt engineering, LangChain, vector databases (Pinecone, FAISS), and LLM APIs.


• Hands-on experience integrating and managing multiple LLM providers (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini) alongside STT and TTS systems in production or near-production environments.


• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes), and scalable microservices.


• Demonstrated ability to operate with autonomy and build things without an established team or process around you.


• Good communication skills — you will primarily interface with a global stakeholder in the US and an operations-focused leader in India.

Nice to Have

• Experience with contact centre platforms, chatbots, or voice AI systems.


• Exposure to MLOps, streaming data platforms, and real-time analytics dashboards.


• Prior start-up or early-stage product experience — particularly experience being the first or only engineer.


• Comfort working across time zones and with distributed teams.
