Job summary

Harbinger Systems is seeking an Associate Tech Specialist / Tech Specialist - DevOps in Pune. The role focuses on bridging development and operations, designing, implementing, and maintaining automated CI/CD pipelines, and leading a DevOps team to improve the SDLC.

You will work with AWS, Terraform, CloudFormation, Docker, and Kubernetes, and ensure security, monitoring, and scalable infrastructure. Flexibility to work 7 PM–11 PM IST is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in CS/IT or related field.
  • Proven DevOps experience with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong leadership and team management experience.
  • Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Proficient in scripting (Python, Bash).
  • Familiar with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Knowledge of networking, security, and system administration.
  • Experience with IaC (Terraform / CloudFormation).
  • Knowledge of JSON/YAML in automation.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for multiple projects.
  • Automate deployment processes for reliability and repeatability.
  • Lead a DevOps team and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Manage AWS resources: RDS, API Gateway, Load Balancers, CloudWatch.
  • Develop and maintain IaC using Terraform / CloudFormation.
  • Deploy containers to ECS / EKS / Kubernetes and monitor health.
  • Implement centralized logging and monitoring (SumoLogic, Splunk, New Relic).
  • Ensure security and compliance of infrastructure and apps.
  • Optimize performance and streamline development lifecycle.

Position: Associate Tech Specialist / Tech Specialist - DevOps
Experience 6 to 8 Years
Job Location- Pune

Shift time:

  • Person should be flexible to work between 7 PM to 11 PM IST as customer calls happen during this time period.
  • Once in every 3 months person will need to stay back and attend Planning increment meeting which go beyond 12 midnight for 5 days.

Job Overview

As a Specialist DevOps Engineer, you will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between development and operations teams, ensuring seamless integration and delivery of software products. Your responsibilities will include designing, implementing, and maintaining automated processes for building, testing, and deploying applications. You will lead a team of DevOps engineers, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to the overall improvement of the software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
1. Continuous Integration and Deployment
  • Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for multiple projects.
  • Automate deployment processes to ensure efficiency, reliability, and repeatability.
  • Having strong understanding of CI/CD Pipeline build and configuration, AWS Code Pipeline & Code Build a plus Or Jenkins experience.
  • Implement best practices for version control, branching, and merging.
  • Deployment of docker containers in ECS or EKS or Kubernetes
2. AWS Application configurations
  • RDS Databases
  • CloudFront Application Web Services
  • AWS Service Manager (Parameter Store, Secrets and AppConfig)
  • IAM
  • API Gateway and Load Balancers.
  • CloudWatch for monitoring.
3. Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code scripts using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Deployment of docker containers in ECS or EKS or Kubernetes
  • Manage and scale cloud infrastructure to support the application workload.
  • Ensure the security and compliance of infrastructure resources.
  • Infrastructure as Code experience in Terraform (Preferred), Cloud Formations (Preferred) and Ansible (Optional).
  • Defining and setting development, test, release, update, and support processes for DevOps operation
4. Monitoring and Logging
  • Implement monitoring solutions for applications and infrastructure.
  • Set up centralized logging systems to track and analyze system logs.
  • Respond to and troubleshoot incidents, ensuring system reliability.
  • Integrations with monitoring tools such as SumoLogic, Splunk (Monitoring) and New Relic.
5. Automation and Scripting
  • Automate routine tasks to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
  • Write scripts and automation tools for configuration management and deployment.
6. Database
  • Administration of NOSQL data in MongoDB
7. Collaboration and Communication
  • Foster collaboration between development and operations teams.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders about the status of deployments, system health, and ongoing improvements.
  • Knowledge of working with JSON and YAML files
8. Security and Compliance
  • Implement security best practices for infrastructure and applications.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
9. Performance Optimization
  • Identify and implement performance improvements for both applications and infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with development teams to optimize code and improve application performance.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a DevOps engineer or similar role.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, IaC, and automation tools.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Knowledge of networking, security, and system administration.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Docker Certified Associate).
  • Experience with microservices architecture.
  • Knowledge of configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
