Job description

We’re looking for a Tech Lead / Manager who is equally comfortable writing production code and leading a team. You’ll balance hands‑on technical contribution, architecture, code reviews, and occasionally shipping features yourself with people leadership: mentoring engineers, driving delivery, and shaping technical direction.

What You’ll Do

• Write, review, and maintain production‑quality code alongside the team (not just in theory — you’ll ship when needed)


• Lead technical design and architecture decisions for your team’s area


• Manage, mentor, and grow a team of engineers, including 1:1s, career development, and performance feedback


• Own sprint planning, delivery timelines, and cross‑functional coordination with Product/Design


• Set and enforce engineering best practices: code quality, testing, CI/CD, documentation


• Balance short‑term delivery with long‑term technical health of the codebase


• Act as a bridge between engineering and leadership/stakeholders on scope, risk, and tradeoffs

What We’re Looking For

• 5–6+ yearsof software engineering experience, with 1+ yearsin a tech lead or people‑management capacity


• Strong hands‑on coding ability in [fullstack, java etc] — able to jump into the codebase and unblock the team


• Proven experience leading a small‑to‑mid‑size engineering team (hiring, mentoring, performance management)


• Solid grasp of system design, scalability, and architecture tradeoffs


• Experience owning delivery: sprint planning, estimation, prioritization


• Excellent communication skills — able to translate between technical detail and business context


• Bonus: experience scaling a team, working in a startup/fast‑paced environment, or owning a product area end‑to‑end

• Established as a trusted technical decision‑maker on the team


• Team velocity and code quality metrics stable or improving


• Direct reports have clear growth plans and regular feedback


• Demonstrated ability to step in and code when priorities demand it
