Job summary

Genpact is seeking a Tech Lead - Enterprise Application with Oracle expertise to lead the database operations for the Spire platform. You will own Oracle environments, drive automation, and collaborate across global teams to deliver reliable, scalable solutions.

The role requires 19c experience, strong RMAN, PL/SQL, Linux skills, and familiarity with IaC tools like Terraform/Ansible, with after-hours support on a rotation basis. Hybrid work in Bengaluru offers growth and impact at scale.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Oracle Database Administration for production environments (19c preferred).
• Strong Oracle architecture, tuning, and backup/recovery (RMAN).
• Proficient in Oracle PL/SQL development and support for critical applications.
• Linux-based systems experience (RHEL) with scripting (Bash/Python).
• Exposure to IaC tools (Terraform/Ansible) and cloud basics (AWS).
• Willing to work US Eastern hours; after-hours rotation support.
• Experience with PostgreSQL in hybrid/cloud environments is a plus.

• Perform performance tuning, capacity planning, and disaster recovery planning with platform teams.
• Monitor system health and troubleshoot using standard diagnostic tools.
• Collaborate with engineering, DevOps, and infrastructure teams for deployments and project delivery.

Job Description Role Responsibilities

• Contribute to long‑term initiatives including adoption of Infrastructure as Code and migration to AWS‑hosted database solutions.
• Develop, maintain, and improve automation scripts to streamline operations and reduce manual intervention.
• Perform performance tuning, capacity planning, and disaster recovery planning in collaboration with platform teams.
• Monitor system health and troubleshoot issues using standard diagnostic and monitoring tools.
• Collaborate closely with engineering, DevOps, and infrastructure teams across global offices to support deployments and project delivery.

Required Skills

• Hands‑on experience as an Oracle Database Administrator supporting production environments, preferably with 19c.
• Strong understanding of Oracle architecture, performance tuning, and backup/recovery processes using RMAN.
• Practical experience in Oracle PL/SQL development and support for mission‑critical applications.
• Proficient in Linux‑based systems (e.g., RHEL) and automation through scripting languages such as Bash or Python.
• Exposure to tools such as Terraform and Ansible, with a keen interest in cloud‑based solutions, especially AWS.
• Willingness to work primarily in US Eastern time hours and cover after‑hours and weekend support on a rotational basis.
• Experience with PostgreSQL administration in hybrid or cloud environments is a strong plus.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues independently.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills when working with cross‑functional, geographically distributed teams.
• Comfortable participating in on‑call rotations and providing off‑hours support when required.
