Job summary

Northern Trust Bangalore office is seeking a Technical Coordinator - Reconciliation with 4–5 years of experience in financial services. The role focuses on custody reconciliation, risk controls, and delivering accurate reconciliations within SLAs. Strong Excel skills and knowledge of related products are preferred.

As a partner, you will collaborate with global teams, manage escalations, and maintain process documents while contributing to global standards and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate strong operations knowledge including secondary review, controls, risk & mitigation
  • Ensure timely delivery of reconciliations and respond to client/auditor queries
  • Maintain DPADs/SLDs and other process documents
  • Collaborate with Team Leads/Managers to ensure daily deliverables
  • Troubleshoot escalations and provide training sessions when needed
  • Keep awareness of SLAs and KPIs and escalate issues promptly
  • Build strong relationships with other teams to meet client expectations
  • Be the contact for the home location for complex transactions

TECHNICAL COORDINATOR - RECONCILIATION
Principal Responsibilities
  • Strong subject matter expertise/ knowledge of NT business (Custody, Investment Operations, etc.
  • Demonstrate through examples /evidence strong operations knowledge including secondary review & controls, risks & mitigation
  • Demonstrate through examples /evidence excellent written and verbal language skills, ability to independently address technical & non-technicalissues, knowledge share / training sessions conducted, proactively troubleshoot and manage escalations, and work with global teams
  • Demonstrate through examples /evidence analytical ability, problem solving, day-to-day task management and escalation of issues
  • Working knowledge of Excel including macros/automations within the process
  • Sustainable performance demonstrated through examples/evidence, the above listed core skills and competencies in the current role over a period ofat least 24 months
  • Serves as a contact for the home location, to provide resolution of complex transactions.
  • Responsible for delivery of recs, accurately and within specified timeframes.
  • Respond promptly and appropriately to general queries received from home country, clients and auditors.
  • Assist with testing of ongoing projects as requested.
  • Be aware of all service level agreements and KPIs in place.
  • Ensure issues are escalated to the appropriate personnel across the business in a timely manner.
  • Continuously meet and exceed the expectations and requirements of all clients.
  • Work within a team with a strong willingness to assist others when required, building effective relationships with members of other teams
  • Responsible for taking ownership of all process related documents(DPAD’s/SLD’s,etc)
  • Responsible to maintain the levels of accuracy and timeliness as per agreed SLD
  • To work very closely with the Team Leads/Section Managers to ensure business deliverables are taken care on a daily basis
Knowledge / Skills / Experience
  • Team player, though also comfortable with working unsupervised for certain periods
  • Ability to put forward solutions as well as identify issues
  • Pro-active approach with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of CASS regulation, Custody reconciliation and/or products like FX, Mutual funds and Cash operations [preferably].
  • Working knowledge of Excel and good knowledge of TLM PLF too
  • FA knowledge will be added advantage
Qualifications
  • Degree in Finance/Commerce [preferably]. An operations environment background, from one that is deadline driven with a strong focus on controls,targets, change and challenging the norm
  • Knowledge of Reconciliations products and Research [preferably].
Experience
  • Years working experience: 4-5 years
  • Relevant industry: Financial Services, preferably Investment Banking, Investment Management & Asset Management
Eligibility - Internal Partners
  • 24 Months as a Senior Analyst to move as an Associate Consultant
  • Movement within TC and Associate Consultant will be 12 months
