Qualifications

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Life Sciences or related discipline.
• 0–3 years of experience in Quality Control, Microbiology Laboratory, Food, Nutraceutical, Pharmaceutical or Chemical Industries.
• GLP, GMP knowledge and familiarity with FSSC 22000 / HACCP Awareness.
• ISO 9001 / FSSAI Awareness preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform analysis of raw materials, water, environmental samples, and finished products.
• Conduct microbiological testing and maintain stock cultures, including sub-culturing, storage, and sterility checks.
• Prepare media and perform growth promotion testing.
• Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment and instruments.
• Follow GLP, SOPs and quality procedures.
• Ensure timely and accurate documentation of test results and laboratory records.
• Support product quality assurance through in-process monitoring and verification activities.
• Maintain laboratory cleanliness, sanitation, and housekeeping standards.

Reports to: Team Leader - Quality Control

Job Purpose: To ensure the quality and safety of raw materials, in-process samples, environmental samples, water, and finished products through microbiological and chemical testing, while maintaining compliance with GMP, GLP, FSSC, and regulatory requirements.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Perform analysis of raw materials, water, environmental monitoring samples, and finished products.
• Conduct microbiological testing and maintain stock cultures, including sub-culturing, storage, and sterility checks.
• Prepare media and perform growth promotion testing.
• Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment and instruments.
• Follow Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), SOPs, and quality procedures.
• Ensure timely and accurate documentation of test results and laboratory records.
• Support product quality assurance through in-process monitoring and verification activities.
• Maintain laboratory cleanliness, sanitation, and housekeeping standards.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to product quality and laboratory efficiency.
• Assist in preparation and revision of SOPs, test methods, and analysis records.
• Support internal and external audits.
• Maintain inventory of laboratory consumables and reagents.
• Ensure confidentiality of company information and compliance with safety requirements.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the reporting manager.

Educational Qualifications:

B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Food Technology, Life Sciences, or a related discipline.

Certification/s or Training/s:

• Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)
• Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
• FSSC 22000 / HACCP Awareness
• Food Safety & Quality Systems Training
• Laboratory Equipment Handling and Calibration
• ISO 9001 / FSSAI Awareness (preferred)

Work Experience:
