Job summary

Team Leader Production at TAPI leads API/intermediate manufacturing with hands-on GMP discipline, guiding shifts, and driving continuous improvement across production lines. The role requires hands-on oversight of batch production, safety, and compliance in a regulated environment.

You will coordinate with QA/QC, Safety, and Maintenance, manage batch cards and documentation, and push Opex initiatives to achieve OTIF goals while maintaining product quality and process efficiency.

Qualifications

• M.Sc. in Chemistry or B.Tech in Chemical Engineering with 6-7 years of experience.
• Strong GMP knowledge and emphasis on safety.

Responsibilities

• Implement instructions and produce APIs or intermediates as per approved SOPs.
• Lead shift chemists and operators, ensure safety, batch cards, and procedures.
• Store raw materials and finished goods properly; label and document activities.
• Maintain batch cards and GMP-related documents; ensure audit readiness.
• Carry out pH analysis and verify pH meters per procedures.
• Achieve production targets as per plan and coordinate with safety, maintenance, QA/QC.
• Ensure maintenance and cleanliness of critical utilities; support CAPA and OPEX projects.
• Prepare batch cards, qualification protocols, reports, and related GMP documents.
• Identify and drive Opex improvement projects to meet OTIF targets.

Job Description

We’re seeking a hands-on Team Leader Production with deep GMP knowledge, operational leadership, and a sharp eye for continuous improvement. If you thrive in managing API/intermediate manufacturing, driving Opex initiatives, and ensuring compliance across production shifts, this role is built for you.

Main Responsibilities

• Responsible for implementing the instruction and producing APIs or intermediates as per the approved instruction.
• In charge of shift chemist & operators, professional guidance, this includes manufacture of products, safety, dress code and filling of batch cards as per applicable procedures.
• Responsible for proper storage of raw materials, dispensing and storage of Intermediate and finished goods in designated area and labeling ad per applicable procedures.
• Maintaining documents and batch cards as per approved instruction and issuing documents relating the facility’s activities for ensuring implementation.
• Carrying out the pH analysis and ensuring the verification of pH meter as per the applicable procedure.
• To achieve production targets as per plan.
• To coordinate with safety, Maintenance and QA/QC for shift activities.
• To ensure maintenance & cleanliness of critical utilities (if applicable) as per procedures.
• Preparation of batch card, qualification protocol, report & other GMP related documents.
• As an Opex champion, identification of improvement projects in respective areas and supporting functional head to implement the project with targeted OTIF.
• Estimating the base line performance and implementation of Opex in respective areas to achieve the targeted continuous improvement in cost, quality, compliance and EHS.
• Monitoring and review of energy consumption in respective areas and initiating the CAPA if it is out of trend/ off the track.

Qualifications

• Education & Experience:M.Sc.- Chemistry/B.Tech. inChemical Engineering with 6-7 Years

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience in regulated environments (USFDA, WHO-GMP, etc.)
• Exposure to API manufacturing in pharma.
