Job summary

Corporation Service Company is seeking a Team Leader – Client Accounting in Bengaluru to lead accounting teams across multiple client portfolios. You will drive end-to-end accounting, ensure regulatory compliance, and deliver high-quality financial reporting for global clients.

The role requires 3–4 years in accounting with leadership experience, proficiency in IFRS/FRS 102, and strong Excel skills. Hybrid work model with emphasis on process improvement and client collaboration.

Qualifications

• 3-4 years of experience in Accounting & Financial Reporting with exposure to private client portfolios
• Proven experience in team management and leadership
• Strong expertise in preparing financial statements and reporting under FRS 102 and IFRS frameworks
• Proven ability to prepare and analyse complex financial statements and ensure compliance with local/global standards

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end client accounting including bookkeeping, statutory accounts, VAT, and regulatory reporting
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, review and approve documentation, and maintain process quality within SLAs
• Lead day-to-day operations and align with client expectations and internal standards
• Participate in tactical meetings with clients and stakeholders to review KPIs and performance metrics
• Lead and develop a high-performing team culture through coaching and development plans
• Encourage collaboration, engagement, and continuous learning across the team
• Own and manage client relationships end-to-end, ensuring satisfaction, retention, and revenue targets
• Handle escalations and deliver complex financial solutions
• Drive timely closure of client audits and regulatory compliance
• Present financial insights at client board meetings and act as trusted advisor on accounting matters
• Promote process improvement initiatives to enhance service quality
• Identify and mitigate operational risks and respond in crisis situations
• Support migration efforts and ensure SOPs and controls are followed

We're seeking a Team leader – Client Accounting, someone who brings both operational rigor and strategic thinking to lead teams, manage key client relationships, and ensure excellence in accounting service delivery.

Some of the things you will be doing:

Business Process & Operational Management

• Oversee a team of Financial Accountants and Analysts responsible for end-to-end client accounting including bookkeeping, statutory accounts, VAT, and regulatory reporting.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, review and approve documentation, and maintain process quality within agreed SLAs.
• Lead day-to-day operations, ensuring alignment with client expectations and internal standards.
• Participate in tactical meetings with clients and internal stakeholders to review KPIs and performance metrics.
• Lead and develop a high-performing team culture through coaching, performance appraisals, and personalized development plans.
• Encourage collaboration, engagement, and continuous learning across the team.

Client Management

• Own and manage client relationships end-to-end, ensuring satisfaction, retention, and revenue targets.
• Handle escalations, proactively manage queries, and deliver complex financial solutions.
• Drive timely closure of client audits and ensure regulatory compliance as per jurisdiction.
• Present financial insights at client board meetings and act as a trusted advisor on accounting matters.

Continuous Improvement & Risk Management

• Promote process improvement initiatives to enhance service quality, reduce turnaround time, and eliminate non-value-add activities.
• Identify and mitigate operational risks and respond effectively in crisis or outage situations.
• Support migration efforts and ensure SOPs and process controls are well-documented and followed.

What technical skills, experience, and qualifications do you need?

Education: Qualified CA or ACCA

Experience:

• 3-4 years of experience in Accounting & Financial Reporting, with significant exposure to private client portfolios.
• Proven experience in team management and leadership
• Strong expertise in preparing financial statements and reporting under FRS 102 and IFRS frameworks.
• Proven ability to prepare and analyse complex financial statements and ensure compliance with local/global standards

Leadership:

• Contribute to policy decisions and long-term planning as part of the senior leadership team
• Demonstrate ownership, initiative, and a continuous improvement mindset
• Inspire and guide teams while promoting best practices in accounting and service delivery

Communication:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Strong interpersonal and presentation skills with client-facing experience

Other Skills:

• Advanced proficiency in Excel/MS Office
• Highly organized with strong personal time management
• Evidence of driving process improvements and risk control
• Familiarity with regulatory environments and global service delivery models
