Job summary

WSP India seeks a GIS Team Leader in the Environment Business Line to drive delivery with a multi-disciplinary GIS, AutoCAD and web/full stack team. The role includes liaison with the Canadian team and GCC services growth, ensuring quality and timely project delivery for private and public clients.

The GIS Technician elements support GAM, GADI and CDD teams in data management, mapping and modelling for environmental investigations, rehabilitation and regeneration.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years directing staff and QA/QC experience.
  • Minimum 15+ years GIS support experience on large multidisciplinary projects.
  • Proficiency with ArcGIS Pro, AGOL, ArcGIS mobile, ERDAS and ETL tools like FME.
  • Excellent English communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain internal client relationships with the Canadian team to ensure ease of communication and work quality.
  • Liaise with multiple stakeholders from different regions and ensure the pipeline of works.
  • Collaborate with other GCC regions for best practice sharing and cross-collaborations.
  • Lead and mentor the GCC Earth & Environment team to ensure QA/QC.
  • Complete Quality Control/Quality Assurance checks to ensure work quality.
  • Support the sustainability strategy for WSP and contribute to technical capabilities.
  • This is a techno-managerial role supporting projects or bid preparations as required.

Responsibilities

  • You'll act as a leader/mentor to the GCC Earth & Environment team to ensure the communication and quality of work output are up to WSP standards.
  • You will complete Quality Control/Quality Assurance checks to ensure work quality and output are up to expected Quality Standards.
  • Support the sustainability strategy for WSP. Contribute to the technical capabilities of the Environmental team through provision of training.
  • This is a techno-managerial role, which requires to support on the projects or the bid preparations as required.
The GIS portion of role would involve:
  • Use GIS and spatial analysis tools to build and maintain geospatial databases including digitising, data conversion, feature attribution, and editing of GIS layers.
  • Capture required topographic layers from imagery and other sources.
  • Production of maps and figures to be used in reports and studies, in compliance with WSP quality management system (QMS).
  • Proactively identify improvements to enhance the company’s GIS service to clients.
  • Attend to team and project needs as required, and respond within agreed timeframes.
  • Provide regular work status updates, including risks or concerns, to GAM and GADI teams.
Qualifications

Key Competencies / Skills / Qualifications

  • A minimum of 7 years directing staff, providing QA/QC, contributing to growth of a team
  • A minimum of 15+ years of experience in providing GIS support for large multidisciplinary projects.
  • Demonstrated proficiency of GIS tools such as ArcGIS Pro , AGOL, ArcGIS mobile field applications, ERDAS [MM1] [CE2] , and ETL tools (e.g. FME)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Proven ability to manage a team of GIS professionals.
  • Attention to detail and Proven Ability to Review others work for QA/QC.
  • Ability to work in a very dynamic and demanding work environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
Desired Skills
  • CAD experience desirable.
  • Basic knowledge of coding (Python, Arcade, R) is desirable.
  • International experience is preferred.
  • Bilingualism in English and French is a strong differentiator
Qualifications
  • Degree in Geography, GIS Database, Geology, Environmental Science or other related field, or equivalent experience.
