Qualifications

• 36 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, KPO, or shared services.
• 12 years of team leadership or supervisory experience.
• Strong understanding of bookkeeping fundamentals, reconciliations, AP/AR, payroll, and month-end processes.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Job Summary

The Team Leader will be responsible for managing a team of bookkeeping professionals, ensuring quality and timely delivery of client work, coaching team members, and driving operational excellence. This role requires strong people management skills combined with a solid understanding of bookkeeping and accounting processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of bookkeepers and accounting professionals.
• Allocate work and manage team capacity to meet client deadlines.
• Monitor productivity, quality, and turnaround times.
• Review work to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal quality standards.
• Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, performance reviews, and coaching sessions.
• Support onboarding and training of new team members.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and implement best practices.
• Escalate and resolve operational issues proactively.
• Work closely with Operations Managers and client-facing teams to ensure service excellence.
• Track and report team KPIs and performance metrics.
• Foster a positive, accountable, and high-performance team culture.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 36 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, KPO, or shared services environments.
• Minimum 12 years of team leadership or supervisory experience.
• Strong understanding of bookkeeping fundamentals, reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and month-end processes.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with Australian bookkeeping or accounting firms.
• Hands-on experience with Xero, QuickBooks, MYOB, or similar accounting software.
• Experience managing a team of 515 professionals.
• Exposure to client-facing communication and stakeholder management.
