Job summary

SYSTRA is seeking a seasoned Civil Engineering professional to lead railway and highway construction projects in India. The role focuses on program governance, planning, scheduling, budgeting, and cross-disciplinary coordination to deliver complex rail projects on time and within scope.

The candidate will manage interfaces between civil works, signaling, telecom, and MEPF, supervise contract compliance, risk mitigation, and change orders. A strong track record in rail/metro projects is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (required).
• 25+ years in construction incl. Railway/Highway projects.
• 15+ years in Railway/Linear projects as Team Leader for at least 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Formulate and oversee Project Implementation Plan (PIP) with schedules, resources, and budgets.
• Set up project governance, reporting lines, and workflows for PGMS supervision team.
• Track milestones, track-laying schedules, and progress across railway sections.
• Coordinate interfaces between civil works, signalling, telecom, and MEPF infrastructure.
• Serve as main liaison for Ministry of Railways, zonal authorities, or regional Metro entities.
• Review drawings and specs ensuring adherence to standards (RDSO, Indian Railways, metro guidelines).
• Manage contract compliance, disputes, and change orders.

Currently, we are bidding for Railway projects across India. The position of Team Leader is the key position in these BIDs.

Missions/Main Duties

• Formulate the comprehensive Project Implementation Plan (PIP) detailing schedules, resource allocation, and baseline budgets.
• Set up overall project governance, reporting lines, and operational workflows for the PGMS supervision team.
• Track construction milestones, track-laying schedules, and structural progress across all designated railway sections.
• Coordinate tricky overlapping interfaces between civil works, signalling, telecommunications, and MEPF (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Firefighting) infrastructure.
• Serve as the main point of contact for the Ministry of Railways, zonal railway authorities, or regional Metro Rail Corporations.
• Review technical drawings and specifications while ensuring strict adherence to RDSO, Indian Railways, or international Metro standard guidelines.
• Manage contract compliance, supervise dispute or conflict resolutions, and oversee variation/change orders.

Profile/Skills

• He/She should be Graduate in Civil Engineering.
• He/She Should have minimum of 25 Years of epereince in construction industry including Railway / Highway Projects
• He/She should have minimum 15 Years of expereince in Railway / Linear projects as Team Leader for at least 3 Years.

OR

• At least 10 years’ experience in SAG or equivalent Grade or above in Civil Engineering or in equivalent grade in Indian Railways/RITES/ IRCON/ RVNL or equivalent grades in Konkan Railway/ MRVC/ DFCCIL.
