Job summary

Standard Chartered is seeking a capable professional to support Private Banking branches in processing corporate action events. You will handle announcements, entitlements, and notifications to relationship managers and clients, ensuring timely actions with custodians and accurate ledger updates.

The role requires knowledge of corporate actions in global markets, strong English communication, and the ability to work under deadlines while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • Investment related experience.
  • Hands on experience on corporate actions.
  • Strong experience in Trade settlement, ideally with a focus on Equities Trade Settlement.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to Private Banking branches in processing Corporate Action Events.
  • Receive corporate actions announcements from exchanges, custodian banks and depositaries and take proper actions for entitlements.
  • Diaries corporate actions announcements daily and keep good records of each event.
  • Notify RM/clients of the corporate actions’ events with details.
  • Follow-up with RM/Clients to ensure instructions are sent to custodians before deadlines.
  • Liaise with custodian banks to follow up on outstanding items affecting corporate actions support.
  • Ensure data entries are correctly input into T24 before passing to checker to authorize.
  • Send email to notify front office of the CA events for their impacted clients.
  • Responding to front office queries.
  • Timely updating of daily statistics.
  • Handle ad hoc projects as assigned.
  • Accurate and timely processing of corporate action events.
  • Chase CA responses and follow up unsettled events with custodians.
  • Ensure that transactions are done in and in accordance with bank operational menu, desk instructions, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Accurate update of client’s securities holdings in the bank system and correct reflection of such holdings in clients consolidated statements.

Skills And Experience

Qualifications
  • Degree Holder in Finance or related discipline
  • Knowledge in corporate actions in Global markets
  • Must have good command of both verbal and written English
  • Able to work under tight deadline and high pressure
  • Self-motivated individual who is an experienced problem solver
  • A team worker, and able to work under tight deadline and high pressure
  • Hours can be demanding; must work during most Malaysian public holidays, resolution to problems often require efforts to research and communicate with various parties.
