Job summary

Siemens in India seeks a Team Lead – R&D Business Excellence for LV Switchgear to spearhead new product development and product optimization. The role covers design to prototyping, testing, and execution, while guiding multi-disciplinary teams across global locations.

The ideal candidate has 10–15 years in switchgear R&D, strong physics/FE simulation skills, and PMBOK training. A degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering plus excellent English communication is required.

Qualifications

• 10–15 years of experience in R&D of switchgear products.
• Experience in development and qualification of LV switchgear products.
• Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Strong knowledge of physics and FE simulations (structural, electro‑thermal, electro‑magnetic, motion).
• Training/experience in Project Management (PMBOK).
• Strong English communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead new product development initiatives for LV Switchgear.
• Drive product development from concept design, simulations and prototyping through testing and final design.
• Lead project planning, budget monitoring, resource planning and development activities.
• Guide teams in patent infringement reviews, new patent applications, product simulations and prototype development.
• Support Design to Cost, continuous product improvement and product localization.
• Identify and implement sustainability and environmental requirements related to products.
• Support lab upgrades and investments aligned with the product roadmap.
• Support ISO audits, documentation and process requirements.
• Drive digitalization initiatives, including cybersecurity topics.
• Lead and develop a team of Project Managers and Product Design Developers.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Business Development, Quality, Manufacturing, customers and suppliers across global locations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and guide new product development initiatives for LV Switchgear.
