Job summary

Infor is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer to oversee automated QA across the development lifecycle on the Birst team in India. You will drive test automation strategy, design automated suites, and ensure quality through REST/SOAP API and frontend testing.

Collaboration with developers and cross-functional teams is essential. You will work with TestNG, Selenium and Groovy, mentor teammates, and help shape CI/CD integration of automation into the build process.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field is required.
• 5+ years of hands-on Software QA/automation experience is needed.
• Strong programming/scripting ability, preferably Java.
• Solid understanding of SDLC and automated QA in Agile environments.
• Experience with Selenium, Groovy, JUnit, TestNG, SoapUI, RESTful Client.
• Proficiency with bug tracking and test management tools.
• Knowledge of TDD & BDD and REST/SOAP testing.
• Familiarity with databases and CI/CD for automation integration.
• Experience testing ETL, BI and SaaS solutions.

Description

As a Senior Automation Engineer, you will be involved throughout the development lifecycle of Infor Birst development team with responsibility in the quality assurance of software development and deployment with emphasis on development and implementation of test automation. You'll be involved in the creation of business requirements inputting the test scripts and test scenarios to ensure developers understand the business requirements so that they can be effectively tested.

You will be working closely with developers as they develop code to ensure requirements are being met and to the correct quality, and you will conduct automated (and manual tests where necessary) to ensure the software created is fit for purpose. During testing you will be thinking "outside of the box" to understand the various scenarios and configurations that customers use to ensure customer quality is maintained and through doing so drive regression testing across the products. You will be responsible for defining and driving innovative automated testing strategies and toolsets into our overall development processes that support and enhance the current Quality Assurance processes within Birst.

We are seeking exceptional QA automation engineers to join our team in Ahmedabad, India to design and execute test suites for our Business Intelligence and Analytics products. In addition to regular quality assurance activities, automating tests using common automation frameworks such as TestNG and Selenium, is a requirement. A Typical Day In The Life Includes

• Work as part of cross functional, passionate agile development teams to ensure quality is driven into the heart of the development process from requirements definition through to delivery of highly concurrent system
• Evangelize new testing methodologies, best practices, and tools with goals to continuously improve test coverage through automation
• Proactively bringing issues and problems to the attention of the team, generating, proposing, and implementing innovative solutions to solve them
• Be meticulous about documentation and maintain test cases and test results.
• Designing, developing, and supporting frameworks for test infrastructure and providing automation expertise
• Research, recommend and implement tools as needed with the goal of increasing automation
• Ensure that all tests are executed and give regular feedback to the team lead on the status of quality
• Work closely with the Product Management and Development Teams
• Be a creative thinker who can quickly identify and test for functional ‘edge cases’ outside of expected functionality workflow
• Test backend API's (REST and SOAP) and front-end UI applications
• Mentor team members on automation
• Willingness to work across time zones to interact with different stakeholders located across US west coast, Europe, and India and ready to work in shifts.
• Willingness to work from office 5 days a week.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field
• 5+ years of experience as hands on Software QA/automation Engineer
• Strong programming/scripting ability in any language, preferably Java
• Thorough understanding of SDLC, specifically automated QA processes in agile development environments
• Experience in writing, executing, and monitoring automated test suites using a variety of technologies including, but not limited to, Selenium, Groovy, Junit, TestNG, SoapUI, RESTful Client
• Proficient with bug tracking and test management toolsets to support development processes
• Strong working knowledge of testing fundamentals such as TDD & BDD
• Expertise testing RESTful, SOAP web services in SOA system
• Working knowledge of Database concepts
• Demonstrated knowledge of CI/CD tools to integrate the Automation scripts
• Manual & Automation testing experience with Generative AI based Application.
• Strong experience in testing ETL, BI and SaaS solutions
• A high degree of self-motivation and flexibility with the ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks
• The ability to interact creatively and achieve results in a fast-moving, dynamic small company environment
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Domain knowledge in Business Intelligence or Data Analytics
• Prior experience working with systems such as ActiveMQ, MongoDB, Elastic-Search and nginx
• Prior experience with security protocols such as OAuth and SAML and related frameworks
• Working knowledge of virtualization and Infrastructure as Service solutions such as Amazon Web Services
• Building test infrastructures using containerization technologies such as Docker and working within continuous delivery / continuous release pipeline processes
• AI Tools & Adaptability: Proficiency in using AI tools for test generation, self-healing, and Automation. Being open to learning new AI tools and integrating them into QA workflows effectively. Leverage AI to enhance the testing processes and improve efficiency.
