Futops is seeking a senior engineering leader to own the payments platform from end to end. You will guide architecture, delivery, and ongoing operations, while mentoring engineers and ensuring strict PCI DSS compliance across all processes.

You will work closely with the UK-based product team to convert roadmaps into actionable technical plans and oversee gateway integrations, 3DS workflows, and payment method provisioning in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifikationen

• Hands-on leadership of engineering teams in a payments environment.
• Extensive payments domain experience and knowledge of PCI DSS controls.
• Experience with regulated, fast-paced environments and SOC 2 compliance considerations.
• Strong communication across UK/US and other time zones.

HIRING OUR GLOBAL CLIENT

Location: 5 days working from Gurgaon Office

Working hours: 11:00 AM-8:00 PM

YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

• Own your team's service(s) end-to-end architecture, build, deployment, monitoring and day-to-day operational health — within PCI Pal's established engineering standards.
• Make technical decisions within your domain, acting as the first line of technical judgement before anything reaches wider architecture review.
• Keep existing functionality stable while delivering new work in parallel.
• Make sure your team produces and keeps the evidence needed for PCI DSS and other compliance audits as a standard part of delivery.
• Stay hands-on, personally contributing to delivery of key initiatives.
• Ensure that AI is used throughout the development process to enhance productivity without sacrificing quality.
• Act as direct line manager to the engineers in your team, including regular 1:1s, performance management, day-to-day coaching and career development.
• Support your products along with your team, ensuring that there is proper cover out of hours.
• Work directly with the UK-based Product Manager to turn roadmap and requirements into a workable technical plan, and take charge of estimation and planning activities to build realistic plans.
• Produce technical designs for your team's work, present them to the Senior Engineering Manager for sign-off, and see them through to delivery as priorities or real-world issues change.
• Proactively flag technical risks and blockers to the Senior Engineering Manager before they become critical.
• Own the payments service end-to-end following handover from the existing team, including all live gateway integrations.
• Lead integration of new payment methods and payment gateways/providers as the roadmap requires.
• Keep all existing payment method and gateway integrations operational, monitored and incident-ready.
• Act as the team's ultimate authority on payment flows, gateway behaviour, and the practical gaps or inconsistencies in provider documentation.

WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU:

• Deep, hands-on expertise in payment processing, with detailed knowledge of 3DS authentication flows and the underlying processes.
• Practical working knowledge of MOTO (Mail Order/Telephone Order) transaction handling and its specific risk and compliance considerations, as well as other transaction types such as authorisation, capture, and refund.
• Hands-on experience integrating multiple payment gateways or providers into live payment environments, with first-hand experience with the practical problems of gateway integration work.
• Understanding of how PCI DSS applies to a payments processing service
• Experience directly line managing engineers (1:1s, performance feedback, coaching and career development), or clear aptitude for it.
• Hands-on senior-level engineering background before or alongside this role.
• Strong C#/.NET experience in a production environment.
• Hands-on experience with serverless AWS (Lambda, API Gateway, SQS/SNS, DynamoDB, Step Functions, etc.).
• Experience owning a service end-to-end in production, not just contributing to one.
• Experience working in a fast-paced, regulated environment (PCI DSS, SOC 2, financial services or similar).
• Excellent written and verbal English, with a track record of working closely with UK/US teams across time zones.
• Experience producing and presenting technical designs to senior engineering stakeholders.
• Some prior team lead or mentoring experience, formal or informal
• Experience using AI-assisted workflows to improve engineering quality and productivity, and reduce delivery risk.

Nice to haves:

• Experience in a scale-up or newly-established engineering office.
