Travelex is seeking a Team Lead to join the Compliance and Risk Team in our Mumbai service centre. The role focuses on day-to-day operations of a broad range of compliance processes, acting as a generalist to support all areas of compliance and risk.

You will coordinate, direct and guide the team to deliver KPIs, prioritize daily work, and review analysts' outputs to maintain quality and procedural compliance. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Education: Any Graduate, Any Specialization.
  • Experience: 7+ years in Anti-Money Laundering/ KYC Compliance & Risk or Shared Service Set Up.
  • Experience with Accreditation, Sanction Screening, Transaction Monitoring, Suspicious Activity Reporting, Fraud Analysis preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Assign activities to Analysts and manage workload.
  • Lead the team to meet KPIs and SLAs.
  • Ensure access to required applications and resources.
  • Review analysts' work for quality and adherence to procedures.
  • Provide direction and guidance daily and develop leadership in team members.
  • Manage leaves and cover for manager absence.

Role purpose

Why does this role exist in the organisation?

Working in the Compliance and Risk Team. You will be working as a Team Lead in delivering the day-to-day operations of a wide range of compliance processes being delivered from the service centre. This is a generalist role where you would be expected to get involved with all areas of the compliance and risk function.

To assist in co-ordinating, directing and instructing the team towards delivering KPIs in line with prescribed target. Prioritize and organize work on a daily basis according to business priorities. Review deliverables of the analysts, identify behaviours that deviate from the norm and celebrate as required.

Key accountabilities

Describe the areas the role is ultimately responsible for.

  • Assign activities to the Analyst for action.
  • Manage and delegate work fairly and effectively within the team
  • Request and ensure that the team has access to all the required applications required for the process
  • Review the work of the analyst to ensure quality is maintained and processes are followed as given in the procedure documents.
  • Ensure adherence to SLAs and TATs.
  • Ensure that procedure documents and training material are up-to-date and accurate.
  • Timely MIS and Reporting
  • Develop an in depth understanding of the technical aspects of the process
  • Set objectives for direct reports, conduct regular appraisals and manage performance conversations.
  • Provide direction and guidance to the team on a day to day basis
  • Identify and develop leadership qualities in individuals and groom them for the next level
  • Responsible for managing leaves and absenteeism in the team.
  • Supports team manager and performs management duties when manager is absent or out of office
Experience and personal qualities

  • Experience - 7+ years’ experience in Anti-Money Laundering/ KYC Compliance & Risk or Shared Service Set Up
  • Previous experience of Accreditation, Sanction Screening, Transaction Monitoring, Suspicious Activity Reporting, Fraud Analysis experience is preferred.
  • Good Interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills in English – both written and verbal
  • Good Knowledge of Microsoft Office especially MS-EXCEL
  • The ability to manage across multiple time zones within a fast-paced and diverse cultural environment
