Job summary

International Schools Partnership - US & Canada is seeking an Art teacher for primary students. You will prepare lesson plans, deliver engaging art lessons, and nurture creativity through diverse activities.

You will assess progress, maintain a safe classroom, and coordinate exhibitions and events while collaborating with staff and families to support student development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in fine arts or related field is required.
  • 1–2 years of Art teaching experience in a school setting preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of art forms, techniques and creative practices.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and classroom management skills.
  • Passion for nurturing creativity in young learners.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare lesson plans, worksheets and resources for fortnightly art lessons.
  • Deliver engaging Art classes for primary students.
  • Foster creativity, imagination and self-expression through varied activities.
  • Assess and document student progress with constructive feedback.
  • Coordinate art exhibitions, projects and school-wide art events.
  • Maintain art supplies and classroom resources safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare lesson plans, worksheets and relevant resources for the subject on a
    fortnightly Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Art lessons that cater to the developmental needs and interests of primary school students.
  • Foster creativity, imagination, and self-expression through a variety of artistic activities
    and mediums.
  • Introduce students to different art techniques, concepts, styles, and cultural
    perspectives in art.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages
    artistic exploration and confidence.
  • Assess, document, and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to
    support learning and skill development.
  • Organize and display student artwork within the school to celebrate achievements and
    promote appreciation for the arts.
  • Plan and coordinate art exhibitions, competitions, projects, and other creative events
    throughout the academic year.
  • Maintain and manage art supplies, materials, and classroom resources effectively and
    safely.
  • Integrate art with other areas of the curriculum wherever appropriate to enhance
    interdisciplinary learning.
  • Differentiate instruction to accommodate diverse learning styles, abilities, and
    individual student needs.
  • Encourage students to develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and observational
    skills through creative processes.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and school leadership to support students'
    academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Ensure adherence to school policies, health and safety guidelines, and safeguarding
    practices.
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development programs, school events, and
    extracurricular activities as required.
Skills, Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in fine arts, Visual Arts, Art Education, or a related field.
  • 1–2 years of experience teaching Art in a school or similar educational setting.
  • Strong knowledge of various art forms, techniques, and creative practices.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and classroom management skills.
  • Passion for nurturing creativity and artistic talent in young learners.
