Job summary

  • 2–4 years of school-level teaching experience.
  • Strong knowledge of age-appropriate art techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver structured art lessons aligned with the school curriculum.
  • Teach various art forms such as drawing, painting, sketching, and mixed media.
  • Encourage creativity, imagination, and individual expression in students.
  • Prepare lesson plans, teaching aids, and assessment materials.
  • Assess student work and provide constructive feedback.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized art classroom.
  • Support and prepare students for art exhibitions, competitions, and school events.
  • Integrate art with other subjects where applicable.
  • Maintain records of student progress and attendance.
  • Collaborate with class teachers and participate in staff meetings, training, and school activities.
  • Collaborate with teachers, coordinators, and parents for integrated learning.
  • Participate in training, workshops, and staff meetings for professional growth.
  • Maintain student records, discipline, and adherence to school policies.

Purpose of Role

The Art Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering engaging visual arts lessons that encourage creativity, self-expression, and artistic skill development among students. The role involves fostering an appreciation for art while aligning instruction with the school curriculum and age-appropriate learning outcomes.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience
  • Prior teaching experience of 2 to 4 yrs at school level preferred.
  • Masters’s degree in fine arts / visual arts or a related field.
  • Teaching certification (B.Ed / Diploma in Art Education preferred).
  • Prior teaching experience in a school setting is an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of age-appropriate art techniques and materials.
  • Ability to engage and motivate students across grade levels.
  • Good communication and classroom management skills.
  • Passion for Art and Craft
