Job summary

EY is seeking a Scrum Master and Jira Expert in Bengaluru to guide Agile teams, coach on Scrum practices, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality software solutions. The role requires deep Jira knowledge, stakeholder management, and experience with scaled Agile frameworks in BFSI projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with 5–8 years of relevant experience in Agile delivery methodologies.
• Experience in Banking/Financial services and insurance (BFSI) sector including Cards, Payments, Core banking, Investment banking, Capital markets, Regulatory, Wealth and Asset management.
• Demonstrated experience delivering Agile projects including Scaled Agile (SAFe)
• Knowledge of Jira/Confluence/Azure DevOps/Trello/Smartsheet; Power BI is a plus.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management; ability to present to executives and diverse teams.
• Familiarity with IT landscape of a Bank/Financial institution.
• Industry certifications – PMI-ACP, PSM, CSM, A-CSM, SAFe, CSPO; Jira Administration certification is a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), MS Project/Server

• Strong analytical/problem-solving abilities for troubleshooting
• Experience with Jira integrations (Confluence, Bitbucket, Jenkins) and automation tools (Script Runner)

This career opportunity seeks individuals who not only understand the role technology plays in large scale transformations, but who have experience in designing and integrating technology and business processes to produce value driven solutions. These solutions often include multiple capabilities i.e. demand intake & prioritization, portfolio scenario planning, financial management, program/ portfolio/ transformation execution, schedule management, risk & issue management, resource management, KPI definition, performance reporting and data analytics via dashboards.

Key Responsibilities As Scrum Master & JIRA Expert

• Guide and coach the Scrum Team on how to use Agile practices and principles to deliver high quality products and services to our customers
• Get the team to a high performing level by recognizing areas of strength and improvement and employing appropriate coaching and development techniques
• Responsible for ensuring Scrum is understood and the team adheres to Scrum theory, practice, and guidelines
• Coach the Scrum team in self-organization, cross-functional skillset, domain knowledge and communicates effectively, both internally and externally working within the Scrum team
• Work with Scrum Team, as well as internal and external stakeholders, to influence and drive decision making and support organizational project or product teams
• Resolve team impediments with other Scrum Masters to increase the effectiveness of the application of Scrum in the organization
• Work with Agile coaches and other Scrum Masters to grow within the role and demonstrate Servant leadership skills
• Contribute to the advancement and improvement of Agile practices within the organization
• Facilitate and support all scrum events: Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective
• Proven experience as a JIRA Administrator or JIRA Consultant in a fast-paced environment.
• Deep understanding of JIRA's architecture, including workflows, permissions, custom fields, and plugins.
• Hands-on experience with JIRA configuration, customization, and administration.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Experience with JIRA integrations (e.g., Confluence, Bitbucket, Jenkins) and automation tools (e.g., Script Runner) is highly desirable.

Core Skills

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree with 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in the area of Agile delivery methodologies
• Experience working with Banking, financial services and insurance (BFSI) sector including knowledge of Cards, Payments, Commercial banking, Core banking, Investment banking, Capital markets, Regulatory, Wealth and Asset management (WAM) etc.
• Demonstrated Agile project delivery experience including experience working in Scaled Agile frameworks, Portfolio and Product management using Agile tools, methodologies and framework (i.e. Scrum, Kanban, SAFe)
• Knowledge of Jira / Confluence / Azure DevOps/ Trello/ Smartsheet etc. Power BI is an added advantage
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and stakeholder management skills including experience presenting to executive sponsors and to all levels of technical and non-technical staffs
• Good understanding of IT landscape (infrastructure and applications) of a Bank/ Financial institution
• Must be able to learn, understand and apply new technologies as per the project and program needs
• One or more of Industry certifications – PMI - ACP, PSM, CSM, A-CSM, PSM, SAFe, CSPO
• Certification in JIRA Administration (e.g., Atlassian Certified JIRA Administrator) is a plus.
