Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is hiring an experienced GCP Data Engineer for Chennai to design and implement scalable data pipelines across the Google Cloud Platform. The role requires hands-on work with BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud Composer, DBT, and related tools.

Ideal candidates will have 5 to 10 years of experience, strong Python/SQL skills, and familiarity with batch and streaming data architectures, Kafka, and data security considerations. This is an on-site Chennai drive opportunity.

Required Skills

Candidates should have hands‑on experience in at least 3 of the following core skills:

GCP BigQuery
Python
SQL / ETL
Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines on Google Cloud Platform.
• Develop and maintain ETL processes using Python and SQL.
• Work with GCP services such as BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud Composer, Cloud Spanner, GCS, and DBT.
• Implement batch and streaming data solutions using Kafka.
• Perform data modeling, ETL design, and database replication using Message-based CDC.
• Ensure data security, scalability, and high-performance data processing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver enterprise-grade data solutions.

Technical Requirements

• Strong programming skills in Python and/or Java.
• Expertise in Apache Beam (Dataflow).
• Experience with BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud Composer, Cloud Spanner, Google Cloud Storage (GCS), and DBT.
• Strong knowledge of SQL, Data Engineering, and ETL processes.
• Experience with Apache Airflow.
• Good understanding of Kafka (Batch & Streaming).
• Familiarity with cloud storage solutions and modern data architectures.
• Knowledge of Jenkins, GitHub, and Terraform is desirable.

Good to Have

• Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer Certification
• Experience with DevOps practices and Infrastructure as Code.
