Job summary

Saigal SeaTrade is seeking a commercially driven shipping professional with hands-on experience in CPP and crude tanker chartering. You will develop and fix tanker vessels, nurture Owner/Charterer relationships, and support chartering growth in a dynamic oil market.

The role requires strong negotiation, market analysis, and the ability to prepare charter documentation and market reports. Mumbai-based role with expectations of proactive client engagement.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of CPP and Crude tanker chartering.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Fixing tankers vessels in the oil and gas market.
• Expanding and developing contacts with principals from Owners and Charterers in the tanker segment.
• Building relationships with current clients and sourcing new clients to identify market opportunities.
• Preparing and reviewing Charter Parties, recap terms, fixture documentation and other relevant commercial documentation.
• Preparing and circulating daily tanker market reports, position lists, and market updates.
• Performing additional/ad hoc commercial and chartering duties as required by the business.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be a commercially driven team player with strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and excellent negotiation skills. The role requires hands‑on experience in the tanker shipping market, with specific exposure to Clean Petroleum Products (CPP) and Crude Oil.

The candidate will be responsible for developing commercial relationships with Owners and Charterers, identifying market opportunities, negotiating and fixing tanker vessels, and supporting the overall growth of the company's tanker chartering business.

The key responsibilities include:

• Fixing tankers vessels in the oil and gas market.
• Expanding and developing contacts with principals from both Owners and Charterers in the tanker segment.
• Building a relationship with current clients and source for new clients to identify opportunities in the market.
• Preparing and reviewing Charter Parties, recap terms, fixture documentation, and other relevant commercial documentation.
• Preparing and circulating daily tanker market reports, position lists, and market updates.
• Performing additional/ad hoc commercial and chartering duties as required by the business

Candidate profile

Minimum level of Education

• BSC Graduate with X/XII from ISCE/ISC/CBSE Board.

Knowledge & Experience required

• A postgraduate qualification in Shipping, Maritime Studies, Business, Commerce, or a related discipline would be an advantage.
• Experience: 2-3 years
