Job summary

Talview is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to build and maintain scalable backend services powering the Talview platform. You will work on robust backend services using PostgreSQL, Redis, AWS Lambda, GraphQL, Hasura, and Temporal, collaborating with internal APIs to optimize offerings.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years backend development experience with Node.js.
• Strong fundamentals in OOP, Design Patterns and SOLID.
• Experience with unit, integration, and functional testing.
• Knowledge of distributed systems, app tuning & profiling, CI pipelines.
• Proficiency in SQL (PostgreSQL preferred).
• Familiarity with data stores: Time-series DBs, RabbitMQ/Kafka/SQS, Redis/Memcached, GraphQL Hasura/Apollo, S3/Azure Blob.

Responsibilities

• Build robust backend microservices: design, develop, deploy, and operate scalable services serving millions.
• Optimize performance: monitor service usage and improve efficiency, stability, and speed.
• Collaborate cross-functionally: work with FE developers, QA, Customer Success & Product teams.
• Own your services: take responsibility for solutions deployed for customers end-to-end.
• Innovate: participate in POCs and new product feature trials.

The Role

We are seeking a talented Backend Developer to join our Team.

In this role, you will help build and maintain the Talview platform, working on robust backend services powered by PostgreSQL, Redis, AWS Lambda, GraphQL, Hasura, and Temporal. You will collaborate with internal and external APIs to optimize and enhance our offerings.

What You'll Do

You Have

You Might Be a Fit If

• 5-8 years of solid backend development experience with Node.js
• Strong fundamentals in OOP, Design Patterns, SOLID principles
• Experience with unit, integration, and functional testing
• Knowledge of distributed systems, app tuning & profiling, CI pipelines
• Proficiency in SQL (PostgreSQL preferred)
• Familiarity with additional data stores :
• Time-series DBs (InfluxDB, Prometheus)
• Message queues (RabbitMQ, Kafka, SQS)
• Caches (Redis, Memcached)
• GraphQL frameworks (Hasura, Apollo)
• Object storage (S3, Azure Blob)
• Working knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and microservices

Bonus Points For

• Hands-on SaaS experience
• Experience in customer-facing engineering roles - Git, VS Code, REST client tools
• Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies
• Excellent verbal & written communication
