Job summary

Hill International, Inc. in India seeks a Senior Quantity Surveyor MEP (Post-Contract) to manage commercial and cost control for MEP works across projects in Gurugram, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Chennai.

Qualifications

Overview

Talent Pool- Sr Quantity Surveyor MEP (Post-Contract) supports the commercial management of MEP works for building projects across multiple sectors in India – Gurugram, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai. Responsible for managing the commercial and cost control aspects of MEP works throughout the construction phase of building projects. The role focuses on interim valuations, change management, cost reporting, cashflow forecasting, and final account preparation, while providing technical cost advice based on construction methods, materials, and labor. The position supports accurate financial control, risk management, and effective collaboration with project stakeholders to ensure project objectives are achieved.

Responsibilities

• Undertake quantity take-offs for Electrical, Fire Fighting, Plumbing, HVAC works using applicable standards.
• Use software tools (e.g., Cost X, AutoCAD) for quantity take-off and summarize quantities, transfer data into BOQs or cost plans including carrying out bulk checks.
• Draft or Validate Bills of Quantities including carrying out bulk checks.
• Support cost estimation activities by identifying basic material and labor rates and understanding rate analysis for standard work items.
• Lead hospital construction/renovation projects involving MEP & biomedical systems.
• Manage vendor selection, contracts, and service agreements.
• Monitor budgets, timelines, and quality standards.
• Act as liaison between contractors, consultants, and hospital management.
• Prepare interim payment recommendations, maintain cost control documentation, and manage change control processes.
• Contribute to cost reporting, cashflow forecasting, valuation of variations, tracking of risk allowances, and preparation of final accounts.
• Apply working knowledge of construction technologies and methods in cost planning tasks.
• Assess cost implications of materials, labor, and construction methods during design and execution stages.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Technology in Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing.
• Minimum 7-9 years of relevant experience in quantity surveying, cost planning, or commercial management for MEP works on building projects such as Residential, Commercial, Hotel, Hospital, Fit-out, and Industrial/Warehouse developments.
• Proficiency in CAD, Cost-X (qty take off tools) and other quantification / estimation software.
• Excellent skills in MS Excel and Word and ability to learn and adapt to customized software.
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
• Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
