About Datastraw

Datastraw Technologies is building the operating infrastructure for modern businesses — combining people, technology, data, automation and intelligence to make businesses faster, more efficient and better. We work with growing and established businesses to build and manage customer experience and operational systems across people, processes, technology and AI.

As we continue to grow, the people we bring into the company become one of our biggest advantages. That’s where you come in.

About the Role

We’re looking for someone to join Datastraw’s Talent & People team, with Talent Acquisition as the primary focus.

This isn’t a role where your job is simply to receive a hiring requirement, post a job and close a position. We want someone who thinks about talent continuously. You’ll own end-to-end hiring across office and remote roles, build and maintain a strong talent pool, develop pipelines for current and future requirements, and build relationships with potential candidates even when there isn't an immediate opening.

But there’s another important part of the role: building the system behind hiring.

You’ll work closely with our Tech team to identify opportunities to improve, organise and automate our recruitment processes. You’ll have the opportunity to experiment with technology, AI, tools and workflows that can make sourcing, screening, evaluation and talent management more efficient.

You’ll also be part of the wider People & Culture function, supporting onboarding, employee experience, culture-building and other people initiatives as Datastraw grows.

What You’ll Own
1) Talent Acquisition — Your Primary Responsibility
  • Own the end-to-end recruitment process across technical and non-technical roles, including sourcing, screening, interviews, selection and joining.
  • Build and continuously grow Datastraw’s talent pool, rather than hiring only when a position opens.
  • Develop and maintain strong talent pipelines for regularly hired roles as well as future business requirements.
  • Source candidates through multiple channels, build relationships with strong potential candidates, and maintain an active candidate network.
  • Work closely with hiring managers to understand requirements, improve candidate evaluation and ensure timely hiring.
  • Screen candidates for role fit, communication, capability and alignment with Datastraw’s working environment and values.
  • Maintain a structured, organised and up-to-date talent database, recruitment trackers and hiring MIS.
  • Track hiring metrics and identify what is and isn’t working across sourcing, screening and conversion.
  • Support new-joinee onboarding and joining formalities, ensuring a smooth candidate-to-employee transition.
  • Contribute to improving recruitment, onboarding and People processes as Datastraw continues to scale.

You’ll also help us build the system behind our talent engine. You’ll work closely with the Tech team to:

  • Identify repetitive or inefficient parts of the hiring process and find ways to simplify, automate or improve them.
  • Explore and use AI, automation, HR tech, ATS, HRMS and other tools to make Talent Acquisition more efficient.
  • Build better systems for continuously discovering, tracking, organising and engaging with potential talent.
  • Improve processes around candidate sourcing, screening, evaluation, communication and pipeline management.
  • Think beyond “How do I fill this role?” and ask “How do we build a better talent engine?”
3) People & Culture
  • Support onboarding and joining processes for new team members.
  • Help create a smooth and engaging employee experience from the time a candidate is selected through their onboarding.
  • Support employee engagement, culture-building and other People & Culture initiatives.
  • Help document, standardise and improve people processes as the company grows.
  • Work with the wider People team on building the kind of culture we want Datastraw to have.
Who We're Looking For

We care about how you think and operate as much as your years of experience. We’re looking for someone who is hungry to grow in Talent Acquisition and wants to take significantly more ownership over time.

You should:
  • Have relevant experience in Talent Acquisition, Recruitment, HR or a similar role, with hands-on experience managing end-to-end hiring.
  • Have prior experience recruiting for both technical and non-technical roles.
  • Have experience handling new-joinee onboarding and joining formalities.
  • Have hands‑on experience working with an HRMS; experience with an ATS is an added advantage.
  • Be comfortable using Excel/Google Sheets, MS tools, Slack and other workplace productivity tools.
  • Take extreme ownership and accountability — if something needs to get done, you don’t wait to be told every step.
  • Be highly organised, proactive and strong at follow-through while managing multiple hiring pipelines simultaneously.
  • Be curious about technology, AI, systems and automation, and comfortable working with a Tech team. You don't need to code, but you should be willing to understand how technology can improve TA and HR.
  • Prior experience in a start-up or fast-growing company is a strong advantage. Experience in a BPO, outsourcing, recruitment consultancy or high-volume hiring environment is an added advantage.
  • Be based in Mumbai and comfortable working 4 days from office and 2 days from home, with a personal laptop and reliable high-speed Wi‑Fi for the WFH setup.
What This Role Can Become

This role has significant room to grow. You could start by owning Talent Acquisition and gradually take ownership of larger parts of Talent, People & Culture, and our internal talent systems.

As Datastraw grows, we want the person in this role to become someone who doesn't just execute our hiring process — they help build the system that makes Datastraw better at hiring.

We don't expect you to know everything when you join. We do expect you to ask questions, figure things out, take responsibility and keep pushing something forward until it is done.

Hiring the right people is one of the most important things we do. We're looking for someone who wants to take that responsibility seriously. If the idea of building Datastraw’s talent engine — not just filling today’s vacancies — excites you, we’d love to hear from you.
