Job summary

Mercor in the AI systems space seeks a Systems Engineer (Coding Agent Experience) for a remote contract role. You will work with frontier AI coding agents to tackle complex engineering tasks and review model-generated designs.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in systems engineering and familiarity with distributed systems, networking, OS, storage, and infrastructure software, plus hands-on use of Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, Windsurf, Gemini CLI.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional systems engineering experience.
• Experience with distributed systems, networking, OS, storage, infra software, or database internals.
• Regular use of AI coding agents such as Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, Windsurf, Gemini CLI, or similar tools.
• Ability to evaluate model-generated systems designs and implementations.

Compensation: $85/hour
