Job summary

Siemens in Chennai is seeking a Systems Engineer to design and maintain product configuration models using SAP Variant Configuration and related tools. You will translate engineering rules into configuration logic, model configurable BOMs, and manage multi-level product structures.

You will work with XML interfaces and support integrations across engineering, manufacturing, and IT. A strong background in configurable industrial products and related SAP processes is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• 4-6 years of overall experience.
• Experience with SAP Variant Configuration (VC/LO-VC/AVC) or similar configurators.
• Strong understanding of configurable products, BOMs, and product structures.
• Ability to understand and work with XML-based integrations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related disciplines.
• 4-6 years of overall experience.
• Experience with SAP Variant Configuration (VC/LO-VC/AVC) or similar configurator platforms such as Tacton, Configit, Rulestream, Oracle Configurator, etc.
• Strong understanding of configurable products, BOMs, and product structures.
• Ability to understand and work with XML-based integrations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to quickly learn proprietary tools and system architectures.
• Preferred Background
• Experience in configurable industrial products or manufacturing environments.
• Understanding of SAP sales order processing, BOM explosion, manufacturing, and downstream business processes.
• Exposure to LV electrical products, switchgear, panelboards, power distribution systems, or similar product domains is a plus.
