Job summary

Grantek is seeking a senior member of its Engineering team to design and implement real-time automation solutions across manufacturing environments. You will work with PLCs, SCADA/HMI, MES, and high‑level software to deliver enterprise‑level information solutions.

You will mentor peers, collaborate with clients, and contribute to project design, testing, and commissioning. The role includes travel within India and ongoing learning of new technologies to improve client manufacturing processes.

Qualifications

• Completion of a relevant B.Sc. degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, CS or related field.
• 6–8+ years of practical experience with PLCs, SCADA/HMI, networking, databases, motion, safety or high‑level programming.
• Experience with Ignition, Allen‑Bradley and/or Beckhoff TwinCAT is strongly preferred.
• Analytical mindset, strong communication, and ability to manage multiple projects.

Job Description

As a key member of Grantek’s Engineering team, you will be developing real-time automation solutions from the manufacturing plant floor to the enterprise level, using a variety of programming, configuration, and design tools: PLC and PAC Programming, Operator Interface and HMI application design, SCADA design, Network design, Database design, Vision system design, Machine Safety system design, Servo motion control, Information Solution design, MES design, ERP connector development, High-level software solution design (involving C#, HTML5, .NET, SQL, VB, VBA, and more). All junior team members will enter our mentoring program, where they will work directly beside our Senior Engineer professionals.

Key-skills and interests: machine and process control, high-level programming, information solutions, database development, operational efficiency, mechatronics.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

• Engineering and implementing real-time automation controls and information solutions
• Conceptualizing during the design phase of the project life cycle
• System programming, debugging, and testing
• Creating documentation, including project engineering notes, project proposals, project design traceability documentation, case studies, and more
• Commissioning new solutions at client sites; finding opportunities for improvements
• Creating methodologies and complex problem-solving
• Learning new technologies
• Mentoring colleagues on your expertise and knowledge base
• Having fun and being challenged

Technologies Used

• System Networking: Ethernet, Routing and Switching, EthernetIP, DeviceNet, ControlNet, Profibus, DH+, Remote IO, Modbus, etc.
• SCADA Platforms: Rockwell / Allen-Bradley, Inductive Automation, Wonderware, GE, Siemens, etc.
• MES Platforms: Rockwell / Allen-Bradley, Sepasoft, Wonderware, etc.
• Operating Systems: Microsoft (current and legacy to NT), Unix, Linux, etc.
• Project Documentation: Microsoft Office

Qualifications

• Successful or upcoming completion of aB.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or related Engineering Technology discipline.
• 6–8+ years of practical experiencewith PLCs, SCADA/HMI, networking, databases, motion, safety, or high-level programming (as outlined in the Technologies Used section).
• Academic or industry experience withIgnition (Vision & Perspective), Allen-Bradley, and/or Beckhoff TwinCATstrongly preferred.
• Meticulous, conscientious, analytical, focused, and able to learn complex systems quickly.
• Excellentwritten and verbal communicationskills; able to interface with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong organizational ability to managemultiple concurrent projectsin fast-paced environments.
• Flexibility for local travel with occasional day trips, and the opportunity for additional travel within India.
