Job summary

Insight Enterprises seeks a Systems Architect for SAP Commerce to define and govern the SAP Commerce platform and its ecosystem across enterprise-scale initiatives. You will guide architecture roadmaps, drive integration with SAP ERP/CRM/PIM, and ensure scalable, secure, and resilient commerce solutions.

You will lead technical architecture discussions, mentor teams, and collaborate with business leaders to align technology with strategy in a hybrid, India-wide setup, including Gurugram.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience with enterprise applications.
• 5+ years of hands-on SAP Commerce (Hybris) experience.
• 3+ years of solution, systems, or enterprise architecture experience.
• Strong proficiency in Java and Spring frameworks; architecture discipline.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain target architecture, standards, and governance for SAP Commerce.
• Develop technology roadmaps aligned with business objectives and modernization.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and AI-enabled capabilities for value.
• Lead architecture reviews focusing on scalability, security, and reliability.
• Define integration architectures between SAP Commerce and ERP/CRM/PIM/cloud services.
• Translate business needs into enterprise-grade SAP Commerce solutions.
• Design end-to-end SAP Commerce solutions: catalog, search, pricing, promotions, orders.
• Provide technical leadership and governance to project teams.
• Mentor architects, developers, and leads on patterns and platform capabilities.
• Lead PoCs for emerging technologies and resolve complex architectural issues.

About the role

The SAP Commerce Systems Architect is responsible for defining, governing, and evolving the architecture of Insight's SAP Commerce platform and its supporting ecosystem. This role provides strategic and technical leadership across enterprise‑scale digital commerce initiatives, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, resilient, and aligned with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Architecture Leadership and Strategy (40%) –
  • Define and maintain the target architecture, technical standards, and governance processes for SAP Commerce and related digital commerce platforms.
  • Develop and communicate technology roadmaps aligned with business objectives, enterprise architecture strategies, and platform modernization initiatives.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, AI‑enabled development capabilities, integration patterns, and cloud services to determine applicability and business value.
  • Lead architecture reviews and provide guidance on solution design, scalability, maintainability, security, and operational excellence.
  • Establish architectural principles, reusable design patterns, and development standards across SAP Commerce implementations.
  • Conduct technical feasibility assessments, risk analyses, and cost‑benefit evaluations for new initiatives and platform investments.
• Solution Architecture and Design (40%) –
  • Translate business capabilities, functional requirements, and technical requirements into enterprise‑grade solution architectures.
  • Design end‑to‑end SAP Commerce solutions, including product catalog management, search, pricing, promotions, customer experience, checkout, integrations, and order lifecycle management.
  • Define integration architectures between SAP Commerce and enterprise platforms including SAP ERP, CRM, PIM, payment providers, tax engines, cloud services, and third‑party applications.
  • Create and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical architecture artifacts, leveraging AI‑assisted design and documentation tools where appropriate.
  • Drive decisions related to cloud architecture, application modernization, performance optimization, resiliency, security, and operational readiness.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure architecture compliance throughout delivery and implementation.
• Technical Leadership and Governance (20%) –
  • Provide technical leadership and architectural direction to project teams and development organizations.
  • Serve as the primary subject matter expert for SAP Commerce architecture, platform capabilities, and best practices.
  • Mentor architects, developers, and technical leads on architecture principles, design patterns, and SAP Commerce platform capabilities.
  • Lead architecture discussions with business leaders, enterprise architects, vendors, and external partners.
  • Support technical planning, estimation, and dependency management for large‑scale programs and initiatives.
  • Participate in architecture governance forums and contribute to enterprise technology standards and policies.
• Additional Responsibilities –
  • Lead proof‑of‑concepts and pilot initiatives for emerging technologies.
  • Identify and resolve system‑wide performance, scalability, and reliability concerns.
  • Support production issue resolution involving complex architectural or integration challenges.
  • Contribute to workforce development through coaching, mentoring, and technical training initiatives.
  • Assist leadership with strategic planning, technology investment recommendations, and staffing considerations.

What we’re looking for

• Bachelor's degree from a four‑year college or university in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience with enterprise applications.
• 5+ years of hands‑on SAP Commerce (Hybris) experience.
• 3+ years of solution, systems, or enterprise architecture experience.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
• Deep expertise in SAP Commerce architecture, platform capabilities, extension development, and customization strategies.
• Strong proficiency in Java and Spring frameworks with the ability to evaluate design tradeoffs and architectural impacts.
• Experience designing and implementing large‑scale B2B and/or B2C commerce solutions.
• Strong understanding of SAP Commerce integrations with SAP and non‑SAP enterprise applications.
• Experience with product catalog management (PCM), search, pricing, promotions, personalization, and order management processes.
• Expertise in microservices, API‑first architectures, event‑driven systems, cloud‑native design, and modern integration patterns.
• Experience with public cloud platforms and cloud architecture principles.
• Proven ability to create architecture roadmaps, technical standards, and governance processes.
• Strong understanding of application security, performance engineering, scalability, reliability, and disaster recovery concepts.
• Experience leading SAP Commerce upgrade and modernization initiatives.
• Ability to analyze and communicate complex technical concepts to technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Strong problem‑solving, organizational, facilitation, and decision‑making skills.
• Experience leveraging AI‑powered tools to improve architecture analysis, documentation, development productivity, and engineering effectiveness.
• Demonstrated ability to influence cross‑functional teams without direct authority.
• Experience working in Agile environments and leading cross‑functional architecture discussions.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
