Job summary

Owens & Minor, a global healthcare solutions company, is seeking a SAP System Analyst II to support SAP ECC, BW, APO, and related components. You will monitor performance, assist upgrades, manage transports, and collaborate with functional teams to implement changes.

The role requires 3–5 years of SAP Basis experience, a Bachelor's degree, and strong communication skills. Azure and SAP Cloud exposure is preferred. Based in Pune, this on-site position offers growth within a global organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in SAP Basis Administration and Support.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a customer-service oriented environment.
• Experience with SAP Solution Manager and system monitoring tools.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure) and SAP Cloud solutions is preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Industry Certification - SAP Certified Technology Associate (Basis) or ITIL Foundation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues; manage SAP transports and maintain system integrity.
• Provide technical support for SAP-related incidents and service requests; collaborate with teams for changes and enhancements.
• Install, configure, and maintain SAP systems (ECC, BW, APO, GATP, PI/PO, Solution Manager, etc.).
• Assist with system upgrades, enhancement packs, and kernel updates; work with Oracle/SQL Server databases and Linux/Unix/Windows OS.
• Create and update system documentation; assist SIT/UAT coordination; ensure SAP security and audit compliance.

POSITION SUMMARY:

SAP System Analyst II, SAP BASIS is responsible for assisting on the installation, configuration, monitoring, and maintenance of SAP systems to ensure optimal performance, availability, and security is met. Responsibilities are included, but not limited to:

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• System Performance & Monitoring:
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues proactively.
• Manage SAP transports and maintain system integrity.
• Problem Support & Resolution:
• Collaborate with functional teams and developers for system changes and enhancements.
• Provide technical support for SAP-related incidents and service requests.
• System Administration:
• Install, configure, and maintain SAP systems (ECC, BW, APO, GATP, PI/PO, Solution Manager, etc.).
• Assist on performing system upgrades, enhancement packs, and kernel updates.
• Work with underlying databases (Oracle, SQL Server) and operating systems (Linux/Unix/Windows).
• Perform backups, restores, and disaster recovery planning.
• Documentation:
• Create and update system documentation, operational procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
• Testing and Validation:
• Assist and co-ordinate on System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems.
• Security, Audit & Compliance:
• Implement SAP security standards and ensure compliance with audit requirements.
• Coordinate with SAP Security teams for role and authorization management.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Senior Basis members and Manager.

Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 3 – 5 years of experience in SAP Basis Administration and Support
• Minimum 3 years’ experience working in a customer service orientated environment.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
• Good foundation knowledge on SAP architecture, NetWeaver, and related Basis components.
• Experience with SAP Solution Manager and system monitoring tools.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure) and SAP Cloud solutions is preferred.
• High energy, self-motivated team player with strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to work with diverse remote teams, managing through a matrix structure, and will require strong analytical, problem-solving and process management skills
• Ability to drive constant improvement in process and ability to achieve organizational goals
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Industry Certification - SAP Certified Technology Associate (Basis) or ITIL Foundation is a plus
