Job summary

Ingersoll Rand is seeking an experienced Tech Lead - Embedded for our Bangalore GEC. You will steer end-to-end embedded software development for Controls applications, manage multiple projects, and drive structured Agile execution with a focus on high-quality, secure solutions.

The role requires 6–8 years in embedded C and Bare-Metal programming, plus experience with peripherals and Linux. Collaboration with cross-functional teams and adoption of AI-assisted tooling are key expectations.

Qualifications

• BE/ME in Electronics, EEE or IT with 6–8 years in Controls & embedded software.
• Hands-on Bare-Metal programming and Embedded C for microcontrollers.
• Experience with ADC, I2C, SPI, Modbus TCP/IP & CAN bus peripheral interfaces.
• Strong Agile project management and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end embedded software development for Controls applications and Platform Solutions.
• Own project planning, estimation, scheduling, and execution across multiple parallel projects.
• Perform advanced debugging and root cause analysis for system and field issues.
• Leverage AI tools (e.g., Claude) for code development and reviews.
• Prepare Controls Project Specifications and collaborate cross-functionally using Atlassian tools and Git.
• Ensure security by design with threat modeling and secure coding practices.

Job & Division Summary

We are looking for an experienced Tech Lead - Embedded development with strong expertise in embedded software development, advanced debugging, Agile team management, and lifecycle support for our CSS EMEIA Compressors Controls Engineering business. The candidate will lead embedded development initiatives, manage multiple projects, and drive structured Agile execution while ensuring high-quality and reliable control solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end embedded software development for Controls applications & Platform Solutions.
• Own project planning, estimation, scheduling, and execution across multiple parallel projects.
• Perform advanced debugging and root cause analysis for system and field issues.
• Leverage AI tools (e.g., Claude) for Code development,Code reviews, log analysis etc.
• Prepare Controls Project Specifications and collaborate cross-functionally while using Atlassian tools, Git versioning, and applying networking concepts for system integration .
• Ensure security by design by developing threat modeling, security assessments, secure coding practices, and using tools like Checkmarx.

Mandatory Skills

• 6–8 years of hands‑on experience in Bare-Metal programming, Embedded C, for microcontrollers.
• 4-5 years of experience in integrating peripherals like ADC, I2C, SPI, Modbus TCP/IP & CAN bus protocols.
• 2-3 years of hands‑on experience in Linux programming
• Expert in preparing Control Narratives & Software specification and following Agile project management principles.

Desired Skills

• Knowledge of Python programming and IoT edge computing.
• Leverage AI tools (e.g., Claude or equivalent) for log analysis and troubleshooting.
• Experience in RCA analysis such as FMEA, DRBFM for hardware & software design.

Qualifications

• BE/ME in Electronics, Electronics & Communication, EEE, or IT Engineering.
• Overall 6-8 years of experience in Controls & embedded software development.
