Job summary

Siemens Mobility is seeking a System Engineer TCMS – FDCU & EVR to develop, integrate, and validate Fault Detection Control Unit (FDCU) and Event Recorder (EVR) functionalities for modern train control systems. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure reliable diagnostics, fault handling, event logging, and monitoring functionalities across rolling stock platforms.

Based in Bengaluru, the role involves on‑vehicle testing, software integration, and contributing to standards

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Computer Science, or related engineering field.
• 5–10 years of experience in TCMS, rolling stock, diagnostics, or train control system engineering.
• Experience in development of control documents, RArS, SWrS, etc.

Responsibilities

• Define and develop FDCU and Event Recorder functionalities within TCMS architecture.
• Alignment with component supplier and development of RArS, SWrS and Test specification.
• Analyse diagnostic logs, fault records, and communication traces for troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
• Support software integration, validation, on-vehicle testing, and commissioning activities.
• Coordinate with system, software, testing, RAMS, and cybersecurity teams for successful project execution.
• Prepare and review system specifications, interface documents, and test specifications.
• Ensure compliance with IEC 61131, IEC 61375, IEC 50128, EN 50657, and project requirements.
• Support customer discussions, technical reviews, and issue resolution activities.
• Contribute to improving diagnostics capability, reliability, and maintainability of train systems.

Job Summary:

• Experience in development of control documents, RArS, SWrS, Etc.
• Hands‑on experience with MVB, WTB, Ethernet, TRDP, and onboard communication protocols.
• Sound Knowledge of train subsystems such as traction, brake, HVAC, auxiliary systems, and vehicle control functions.
• Good understanding of railway standards such as IEC 61131, IEC 61375, IEC 50128, and EN 50657.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in cross‑functional and multicultural engineering teams.
• Exposure to predictive maintenance, condition monitoring, cybersecurity, or data analytics concepts will be an added advantage.
