Job summary

InOpTra Digital is looking for a Substation Engineer – Protection Engineer in Bengaluru. The successful candidate will be accountable for designing secondary system engineering for utility-scale substations and developing Protection & Control schematics. Experience of 6 to 15 years in power systems is required.

Knowledge in ETAP, DIgSILENT, and relevant standards like IEC 61850 is essential. Candidates must be ready to relocate to customer offices and work from the office. Valid visa is required for this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Design secondary system engineering for utility-scale substations ranging from 33kV up to 400kV / 765kV
• Develop and review detailed Protection & Control schematics
• Prepare and validate:
  • Single-Line Diagrams (SLD)
  • Three-Line Diagrams
  • AC/DC schematic loops
  • Control circuit wiring diagrams
  • Termination schedules
• Perform power system fault analysis and short-circuit studies
• Prepare engineering specifications for:
  • Protection & Control Panels (CRP)
  • Numerical Relays
  • Digital Fault Recorders (DFR)
  • Time Synchronization Units (GPS/PTP)
• Support relay coordination and protection system studies
• Ensure compliance with utility standards and customer requirements
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering and commissioning teams
