Job summary

Siemens Smart Infrastructure in India is seeking a System Engineer for protection and substation automation projects. You will work on design, validation and integration tasks across protection schemes, control panels, and SCADA interfaces.

The role requires a BE/B.Tech in Electrical or Electronics, 4–8 years of relevant experience, and strong communication skills. It offers a hybrid work model with five working days and opportunities to collaborate with multi-vendor teams.

Qualifications

• B.tech/B.E in Electrical/Electronics Engineering is required.
• 4–8 years of relevant experience in electrical/substation projects.
• Good interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Prepare protection SLDs, trip matrices and interlocking logic per spec.
• Design control & protection panels for various voltage levels with bus arrangements knowledge.
• Develop controller schematics for generators, lines, transformers and related equipment.
• Support substation automation and SCADA, integrating IEDs from multiple vendors.
• Prepare FAT/SAT/GTP/TTR/FDS/HEAT LOAD documents and BOM, GA, schematics.

Job overview

This position is for system engineer with experience on engineering of protection system and substation Automation system.

Job Description

• Preparation of Protection SLDs, Trip matrix, interlocking logics etc. as per customer specification/requirements.
• Design of Control & Protection Panels for all voltage levels system, should have knowledge of various bus arrangements.
• Control and protection schematic preparation for various power system equipment i.e. Generator, Line, Transformer, Reactor, Busbar etc.
• Solid understanding of substation Automation System and SCADA applications, Communication protocols and integration of IEDs from different Vendors like Siemens, GE, ALSTOM
• Preparation of FAT/SAT/GTP/TTR/FDS/HEAT LOAD documents.
• Preparation of CRP interfacing drawings.
• Preparation of various types of System Architecture based on system requirements.
• Knowledge on different serial and ethernet based protocol used in Substation Automation System.
• Should have knowledge on Master Slave and client server philosophy, IEC61850 protocol and Computer networking.
• Should have knowledge of networking topologies (Ring, HSR, PRP etc.)
• Discussion with customer for drawing approval/resolution of query.
• Initiating loadings to factory for material procurement, fabrication and wiring of the systems under scope.
• Support to Sales/testing/commissioning team.
• Preparation and validation of BOM, GA and schematics.

Eligibility criteria / Skill Sets

• B.Tech /B.E in Electrical/Electronics Engineering.
• 4-8 years of relevant experience.
• Has good interpersonal, negotiation and communication skill.
• Fast learner and able to work independently or as a team player.
• Able to work under minimum or less supervision.
