Job summary

Saint-Gobain Group in India is seeking an experienced Vision Systems Engineer to design, develop, deploy, and maintain industrial vision solutions for quality control. The role involves scaling systems across India and beyond, with deep exposure to imaging hardware, edge inference, and MLops.

You will work on OpenCV, PyTorch/TensorFlow, and state-of-the-art architectures in a manufacturing setting, traveling within India as required to support plants and customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in computer vision or machine vision systems, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial inspection environment.
• Strong programming skills in Python and/or C++.
• Practical experience with OpenCV, PyTorch/TensorFlow, scikit-image.
• Experience with object detection/segmentation architectures (YOLO, Faster R-CNN, U-Net, Mask R-CNN).
• Understanding of imaging hardware: industrial cameras, lenses, lighting techniques, and frame grabbers.
• Experience deploying models on edge devices (NVIDIA Jetson, industrial PCs) for real-time inference.
• Familiarity with OPC-UA, Modbus, PLC integration.

Responsibilities

• Develop, deploy and maintain vision-based quality systems used by Saint-Gobain in India.
• Roll out similar systems to customers across the globe.
• Understand the functional domain deeply.

Domain knowledge:

Vision systems, cameras/imaging devices, Python programming in OpenCV, TensorFlow, ML/DL, Gen AI, MLops, IT/OT CV project deployment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.

• Familiarity with communication protocols used in manufacturing (OPC-UA, Modbus, PLC integration).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Comfortable working on the factory floor.
• Working experience with MLops, Gen AI is a must.
• Knowledge about PCB Design, CAD is a plus.
