Machine Vision Engineer(5+ years)- MVE17082026EN
Pune , India
This is a hands-on, full-ownership role for someone who lives at the intersection of optics, hardware andsoftware. You’ll walk a client’s production line, design and build the imaging setup that works in that environment, develop the inspection algorithms, and deploy them on-site. You won’t just write code — you’ll make vision work on
a real factory floor: on reflective metal, at line speed, under real lighting.
Vision System
Optics
Programming and Computer Vision
Responsibilities
- Design the imaging setup for each deployment — select and position cameras, lenses and lighting for thespecific part, surface and line conditions.
- Integrate the vision system with the line — mounting, triggering (encoder/PLC), synchronisation to linespeed, factory-grade enclosures.
- Build and tune the vision algorithms — detection, tracking, measurement, defect/anomaly inspection — andvalidate them against real product.
- Deploy and commission on-site at client factories (domestic and international), and tune in the field until thesystem performs.
- Own each system end to end: acquisition → algorithm → deployment → field tuning → documentation andhandover.
Must Have
- Proven, hands-on experience setting up machine-vision systems on real production lines — you’vechosen the cameras, lenses and lighting and physically deployed them, not just integrated a vendor SDK.
- Strong optics fundamentals — lens selection (focal length, working distance, field of view,sensor/resolution), depth of field.
- Strong lighting skills — bright/dark field, dome, coaxial, backlight, strobe, wavelength selection; comfortablesolving reflective/metallic surfaces and ambient-light challenges.
- Industrial cameras and interfaces — area and line-scan, global shutter, GigE Vision / USB3 Vision /CoaXPress; experience with machine-vision brands (Basler, Cognex, IDS, Allied Vision or similar).
- Solid programming and computer vision — Python, OpenCV, and a deep-learning framework (PyTorch orTensorFlow); object detection and tracking.
- Willingness to travel to client sites — both within India and internationally (valid passport required).
- Typically 5+ years in machine vision, industrial imaging or vision-system integration.
Nice to have
- PLCs and industrial protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus); C++.
- Robotics or automation-systems exposure.
- Familiarity with quality-control and inspection standards.
What's great in the job?
- Genuine end-to-end ownership — the whole vision system is yours, not a slice of it.
- Real deployments, real variety — different products, surfaces and challenges every time, across India, the Gulf, Europe and China.
- Modern AI tooling — we build AI-augmented, so your time goes on the hard imaging problems, not boilerplate.
- Be the vision authority for a growing industrial-AI product, with room to shape how it’s built and deployed.
