Fareportal is seeking a System Engineer (L2) to support and maintain enterprise IT systems across onpremises, virtualized, and cloud environments in Gurgaon. The role emphasizes incident resolution, system administration, and collaboration with vendors in an SLA-driven setting.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on Windows/Linux administration, experience with VMware/HyperV, AD/DNS/DHCP, and basic Azure exposure, along with strong troubleshooting and documentation skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT/Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• 34 years of experience in system administration or infrastructure support roles.
• Hands-on experience with Windows Server and/or Linux administration.
• Working knowledge of virtualization platforms (VMware/HyperV).
• Experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and identity management concepts.
• Basic exposure to Azure infrastructure and hybrid cloud environments.
• Familiarity with monitoring, backup, and patch management tools.
• Experience working with vendors and support teams in an SLA-based environment.
• Basic scripting or automation exposure is a plus.
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide L2 operational support and troubleshooting for enterprise server and system infrastructure.
• Administer and support Windows and/or Linux servers, including installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades.
• Support virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere/ESXi and HyperV.
• Manage Active Directory services including AD DS, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and user/computer lifecycle management.
• Monitor system health, performance, availability, and capacity; take proactive remediation actions.
• Support storage integration and basic backup/restore operations using enterprise backup tools.
• Assist with cloud infrastructure operations in Azure, including virtual machines, storage, and identity integration.
• Perform incident triage, rootcause analysis, and ensure timely resolution within defined SLAs.
• Coordinate with OEMs, service providers, and internal teams for issue resolution and system changes.
• Support automation initiatives using scripting/tools (PowerShell, Bash, etc.) to reduce repetitive manual tasks.
• Create and maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and knowledge base articles.
• Ensure systems comply with security, compliance, and organizational standards.
