Job summary

IDX isn't your average communications company. We are seeking a skilled System Engineer to join our IT Support team to maintain, support, and improve the organisation's IT infrastructure.

You will work with internal stakeholders to resolve technical issues across servers, endpoints, cloud platforms, and enterprise applications. You will interact with Cyber Security teams, participate in infrastructure projects, and provide Level 2/3 support, including on-call duties when required.

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of experience in System Administration, Infrastructure Support, or IT Operations.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server administration.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and Azure Active Directory.
  • Experience managing endpoint devices using Microsoft Intune or equivalent MDM solutions.
  • Knowledge of virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
  • Understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLANs, and firewalls.
  • Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Familiarity with PowerShell scripting and automation.
  • Basic understanding of Azure cloud infrastructure is desirable.
  • Experience using ITSM tools such as ServiceNow, Jira Service Management, or similar platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, monitor, and maintain Windows and Linux servers.
  • Manage Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, Group Policies, and user administration.
  • Administer Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
  • Monitor system performance and ensure infrastructure availability.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, operating system, software, and network-related issues.
  • Configure and maintain virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V.
  • Manage backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity processes.
  • Support LAN, WAN, VPN, Wi-Fi, DNS, DHCP, and firewall infrastructure.
  • Implement system updates, patches, and security configurations.
  • Maintain IT asset inventory, documentation, and standard operating procedures.
  • Collaborate with Cyber Security teams to ensure compliance with organisational security standards.
  • Participate in infrastructure projects, upgrades, and technology implementations.
  • Provide Level 2/Level 3 technical support and participate in on-call support when required.

The Gig:
