Job summary

Alstom in Bengaluru is seeking a seasoned System Architect to lead the design and integration of telecom subsystems for metro and mainline rail projects. You will work with project managers, interface managers and civil contractors to deliver robust communications, PA, CCTV, Signaling interfaces and testing strategies.

Responsibilities include architecture leadership, design reviews, PoCs, lab setup and mentoring engineering teams to ensure on-time, within-budget delivery across international

Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
  • 14–15 years of relevant experience in rail telecom domain or IT/Telecom industry (including 5 years in metro projects).
  • Experience designing telecom sub-systems to meet customer requirements.
  • Knowledge of telecom interfaces with signaling, rolling stock, SCADA, and Automatic Fare Collection.
  • Systems Thinking mindset and ability to translate customer requirements into architecture and design documents.
  • Strong communication and team collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with flexibility and resilience.

  • Leading the architecture, design, integration, testing, and deployment of telecom systems for metro rail and transportation projects.
  • Developing technical roadmaps and solution strategies aligned with business objectives and lifecycle management principles.
  • Reviewing and approving design deliverables, including Preliminary and Detailed Design Documents, FAT, PAT, and SAT procedures.
  • Conducting Proof of Concepts (PoCs), vendor assessments, and technical feasibility studies.
  • Establishing and managing telecom testing laboratories for simulation and validation.
  • Providing technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to engineering teams.

Take on a new challenge and apply your technical expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside collaborative and innovative teammates.

You’ll play a key role in designing and integrating telecom subsystems for urban and mainline rail projects, ensuring seamless and efficient operation. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (Project Managers, Interface Managers, Civil Contractors), lead technical workshops with stakeholders, and oversee system integration and testing, among other responsibilities.

You’ll specifically take care of designing telecom sub-systems such as Telephony Systems, Public Address Systems, CCTV Systems, and more, but also manage interfaces with external systems including Signaling, SCADA, and Automatic Fare Collection systems.

We’ll look to you for:
  • Leading the architecture, design, integration, testing, and deployment of telecom systems for metro rail and transportation projects
