Job summary

Friends Colour Image is seeking a skilled System Administrator to manage and secure the enterprise IT infrastructure in India. The role covers network administration, firewall management, and MS 365/AD administration, ensuring high availability and robustness.

The ideal candidate will have strong TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLAN, VPN, DNS, and DHCP expertise, with hands‑on firewall experience and virtualization know‑how. Excellent problem solving and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4–8 years of experience in System/Network Administration or IT Infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, VPNs, DNS, DHCP, and network security.
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise firewalls such as SonicWall, Fortinet, Cisco ASA/FTD.
  • Experience administering Microsoft 365, Azure AD, Windows Server, and Active Directory.

Responsibilities

  • Administer LAN/WAN, VPN, Wi‑Fi, and enterprise network infrastructure.
  • Manage MS 365, Exchange Online, Teams, OneDrive, and Azure AD environments.
  • Monitor servers, storage, backups, and disaster recovery; ensure business continuity.
  • Perform patching, health checks, and infrastructure upgrades with minimal disruption.
  • Provide Level 2/3 technical support for hardware, software, network, and MS 365 issues.

Broad Function:

We are looking for a highly skilled and proactive System Administrator to manage and support the organizations enterprise IT infrastructure, including network administration, Microsoft 365 environment, Active Directory, firewalls, servers, and security infrastructure. The role is responsible for ensuring high availability, security, performance, and reliability of the organizations IT systems while driving infrastructure improvements, troubleshooting complex technical issues, and maintaining business continuity.

Roles and Responsibilities: (Including but not limited to):
Functional Area Key Roles & Responsibilities:
1. Network Administration:
  • Administer and maintain LAN, WAN, VPN, Wi-Fi, and enterprise network infrastructure.
  • Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot Layer 2/Layer 3 switches, routers, VLANs, and routing protocols.
  • Manage IP addressing, subnetting, DNS, DHCP, NAT, and network connectivity.
  • Monitor network performance and resolve connectivity, latency, and bandwidth issues.
  • Maintain network documentation, IP inventory, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
2. Firewall & Network Security:
  • Administer and manage enterprise firewalls (SonicWall, Fortinet, Cisco ASA/FTD, or equivalent).
  • Configure firewall policies, NAT, ACLs, and Site-to-Site/SSL VPNs.
  • Monitor firewall logs, security events, and troubleshoot network security incidents.
  • Perform firewall firmware upgrades, configuration backups, and restoration.
  • Coordinate with ISPs for Internet leased lines, VPN connectivity, and network-related issues.
  • Implement network security best practices to ensure a secure IT environment.
3. Microsoft 365 & Active Directory Administration:
  • Administer Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, Teams, OneDrive, and Azure Active Directory.
  • Manage user accounts, mailboxes, groups, licenses, and access permissions.
  • Administer Active Directory, Group Policies (GPOs), Windows Server, DNS, and DHCP services.
  • Configure and manage Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Conditional Access, and identity security.
  • Support user onboarding, offboarding, and access management.
4. System & Infrastructure Management:
  • Install, configure, and maintain Windows Servers, virtualization platforms (VMware/Hyper-V), and enterprise infrastructure.
  • Monitor servers, storage, backup systems, and enterprise applications.
  • Perform server patching, firmware updates, preventive maintenance, and health checks.
  • Manage backup, restoration, and disaster recovery processes to ensure business continuity.
  • Plan and execute infrastructure upgrades with minimal business disruption.
  • Manage IT assets including desktops, laptops, printers, and peripheral devices.
5. Monitoring, Incident Management & Technical Support:
  • Monitor network, servers, security devices, and IT infrastructure using enterprise monitoring tools.
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and resolve infrastructure-related incidents within defined SLAs.
  • Provide Level 2/Level 3 technical support for hardware, software, network, and Microsoft 365 issues.
  • Maintain infrastructure documentation, asset inventory, and technical records.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and vendors for timely issue resolution.
6. Process Improvement & Documentation:
  • Develop and maintain IT infrastructure documentation, SOPs, and configuration records.
  • Identify opportunities to automate routine administrative tasks and improve operational efficiency.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies, cybersecurity best practices, and Microsoft ecosystem
  • enhancements.
  • Support IT projects, infrastructure enhancements, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
Desired Experience/Qualification:
  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or any equivalent discipline.
  • Minimum 4–8 years of experience in System Administration, Network Administration, or IT Infrastructure Management.
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, Routing, Switching, VLANs, VPNs, DNS, DHCP, and Network Security.
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise firewalls such as SonicWall, Fortinet, Cisco ASA/FTD, or equivalent.
  • Experience administering Microsoft 365, Azure Active Directory, Windows Server, and Active Directory.
  • Working knowledge of virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper‑V will be an advantage.
  • Experience with enterprise monitoring tools and backup solutions.
  • Good understanding of cybersecurity concepts and IT infrastructure best practices.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Relevant certifications (CCNA, CCNP, Microsoft, Fortinet, SonicWall, Azure, etc.) are preferred but not mandatory.
