Job summary

Hilti Technology Solutions India is seeking an Advanced SW Quality Assurance Engineer to own complex QA modules across web, mobile, API, and microservices. You will design scalable automation frameworks using Java or C#, drive system integration testing, and integrate tests into GitLab CI/CD pipelines.

You will guide and mentor team members on automation best practices, API testing, and test data handling, while leveraging AI/GenAI tools to enhance automation development and debugging.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in software testing and quality engineering with strong automation expertise.
• Hands-on experience with Java/C# or similar for automation frameworks.
• Strong Selenium for web and Appium for mobile automation; familiarity with BDD like Cucumber/SpecFlow.

We are seeking an Advanced SW Quality Assurance Engineer who can own complex QA modules, design scalable automation solutions, guide team members, and ensure quality across web, mobile, API, and microservices-based applications. The role requires strong technical depth in automation frameworks, system integration testing, CI/CD integration, and Agile delivery practices.

What You'll Do

• Own QA delivery for complex modules, features, and product areas across web, mobile, API, and microservices-based applications; define automation approaches for functional, regression, integration, API, and end-to-end testing.
• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain scalable automation frameworks using Java or C#; lead system integration testing across distributed and microservices-based environments.
• Integrate and optimize automated test execution within CI/CD pipelines preferably using GitLab; collaborate with architects, developers, product owners, Scrum masters, and QA stakeholders to define test strategies, estimates, and release quality criteria.
• Review automation code, improve test stability, reduce flakiness, and promote reusable automation design patterns; guide and mentor team members on automation best practices, BDD implementation, API testing, test data handling, and defect analysis.
• Create and maintain QA documentation including test plans, test designs, defect reports, release notes, and automation guidelines; ensure quality processes align with delivery and release objectives.
• Leverage AI/GenAI tools to accelerate automation development, debugging, documentation, impact analysis, onboarding, and test scenario generation; apply prompt engineering techniques to improve test coverage, edge case identification, automation quality, and debugging insights.
• Evaluate AI-generated automation assets for correctness, maintainability, security, coverage, and alignment with QA strategy; contribute to adoption and effective usage of AI-enabled QA platforms and MCP-style integrations for intelligent automation and workflow optimization.

• 8+ years of experience in software testing and quality engineering with strong expertise in test automation; hands-on experience using Java or C# for designing and developing automation frameworks.
• Strong expertise in Selenium for web automation and Appium for mobile automation; hands-on experience with BDD frameworks such as Cucumber, SpecFlow, or Reqnroll.
• Strong API testing experience using Postman along with RestAssured or RestSharp; experience in system integration and end-to-end testing for microservices-based applications.
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines preferably using GitLab; strong knowledge of Agile Scrum methodologies and JIRA-based test and defect management practices.
• Ability to guide developers and QA engineers on automation practices, test design, execution strategies, and defect triage; strong communication, stakeholder management, analytical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Practical experience leveraging AI/GenAI tools for test scenario creation, automation development, debugging, documentation, impact analysis, and test optimization; ability to critically evaluate AI-generated QA outputs for correctness, reliability, maintainability, coverage, and quality.
• Familiarity with AI-enabled QA platforms (e.g., JIRA/Selenium MCP server or equivalent) for intelligent automation and workflow optimization; good to have experience with Zephyr, JMeter, Docker, AWS, SQL for database validation, and test automation governance.
