Job summary

Birla Carbon in Mumbai seeks a sustainability data professional to manage collection, validation, and analysis of site data using Enablon, and to support reporting to internal and external stakeholders.

The role involves preparing reports, driving sustainability initiatives, and collaborating with IT, HR, operations to develop case studies and improve performance across the organization.

To ensure quality of raw materials and concrete at plants.

The RMC Industry is highly fragmented and very competitive. As a major RMC player we face competition from other organized players and local players which makes superior service delivery along with quality products important for good margins. There is huge growth in infrastructure which opens up opportunities for setting up commercial and dedicated plants. The plant and its resources need to be cost effective with focus on maximizing capacity utilization. This makes it imperative for each plant to be efficient and profitable. The plant employees need to be focused and deliver high performance in each of their KRAs and accountabilities.

KRA1

Manage the collection, validation, assurance, and analysis of sustainability data.

1. Review and validate site sustainability data entered in Enablon, our Sustainability Information Management System, monthly. Input data from internal reports in Enablon monthly.
2. Analyze data to determine anomalies, trends, and ultimately extract meaningful and actionable information from data to support sustainability initiatives and communication.
3. Research, identify, recommend, and develop new leading-edge metrics to ensure comprehensive reporting on material issues.
4. Coordinate with consultant for sustainability data assurance/verification process, annually.
5. Collaborate with IT and reporting departments to streamline data collection and reporting (e.g., connecting to other internal information platforms).

KRA2

Prepare sustainability data reports for internal/external stakeholders.

1. Perform calculations, analysis, and prepare data in required formats for stakeholder reports including, but not limited to GRI, CDP, UNGC COP, internal KPI reports, EcoVadis, questionnaires, Circulytics, etc. to fulfill our commitment to contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals.
2. Engage with sustainability colleagues and internal SMEs to craft qualitative responses and case studies to the same questionnaires/reports.
3. Compile, analyze data and collaborate with external resources as needed for specific sustainability studies, such as LCAs

KRA3

Support sustainability initiatives to deliver on our sustainability commitments.

1. Support Sustainability Team with multiple projects to drive improvement in our Sustainability performance such as sustainable procurement, water and waste minimization, circularity, corporate social responsibility, etc. Support to include, but not limited to, benchmarking, research, conducting stakeholder engagement initiatives, project communication, etc.
2. Collaborate with subject matter experts (internal and external) to develop and implement sustainability best practices throughout our organization.
3. Maintain knowledge of sustainability industry initiatives, trends, and regulations and report to sustainability team.

KRA 4

Coordinate with internal teams including communications, HSE, engineering, legal, HR, operations, etc. to identify relevant content for case studies and stories.
