Job summary

Aditya Birla Group is seeking a Quality Control Engineer (Officer) in the Cement division to plan and organize resources for high productivity and compliance with safety and statutory requirements.

The role emphasizes customer feedback resolution, sustainability initiatives, and proactive maintenance to maximize plant efficiency and profitability.

Responsibilities

• Resolve day-to-day customer grievances related to cracks, workability, slump control, pumping issues and cube failures with corrective actions.
• Support sustainability efforts by addressing environmental grievances, ensuring compliance with norms, and tracking water, energy, CO2, and dust emissions at plants.
• Engage with equipment vendors through regular meetings to improve resource optimization and maintenance efficiency.
• Design and implement preventive maintenance programs for plants and machinery, ensuring safety guidelines are followed and budgets are respected.
• Maintain MIS, planning and budgeting activities, track spare parts life cycles, and consolidate plant plans and budgets.

Job Purpose

To plan and organize the resources for high productivity, optimum resource utilization with operational excellence including safety and statutory compliances.

The RMC Industry is highly fragmented and very competitive. As a major RMC player we face competition from other organized players and local players which makes superior service delivery along with quality products important for good margins. There is huge growth in infrastructure which opens up opportunities for setting up commercial and dedicated plants. The plant and its resources need to be cost effective with focus on maximizing capacity utilization. This makes it imperative for each plant to be efficient and profitable. The plant employees need to be focused and deliver high performance in each of their KRAs and accountabilities.

KRA1 Customer Feedback Resolve day to day customer grievances related to cracks, workability, slump control, pumping issues cube failures etc. and take corrective and preventive actions based on site feedback

KRA10 Sustainability

• Address any environment pollution related grievances from the neighbouring communities adjacent to the plants
• Ensure adherence of environmental or anti-pollution norms set up by the government at plant
• Track and control the water usage, energy usage, and CO2 emission or emission of dust/particulate matter and other pollutants/wastes at plant

KRA2 Training and Development

Vendor Management

• Create and provide opportunity for knowledge enhancement through Training, Seminars, Conferences etc.
• Conduct monthly meeting with equipment vendors to improve resource optimization

KRA3 Maintenance Management

MIS

Planning & Budgeting

• Design and implement periodic preventive maintenance for plants and machinery and ensure vendors follow the mandatory safety guidelines
• Ensure maintenance cost is in line with the budget
• Track the life cycle of each of the spare parts
• Conduct physical stock measurement and reconciliation
• Prepare, consolidate and analyze Plant plan and budget
