Job summary

Lam Research Bangalore LIGHT EIS team seeks a senior leader to drive CAD/PDM platform ownership and engineering data management. You will guide administrators, engineers, and vendor partners to deliver reliable, compliant CAD solutions for global product development.

You will mentor teams, build capabilities, and foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement while aligning with Lam’s high engineering standards and on-site operations in Bengaluru.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage CAD, PDM administrators, support engineers, and vendor resources to ensure effective service delivery.
• Build and strengthen technical, automation, and digital engineering capabilities within the team through coaching, mentoring, and skill development programs.
• Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Drive employee engagement, career growth, succession planning, and overall team development.
• Own the end-to-end lifecycle of CAD systems, including deployment, upgrades, maintenance, enhancements, and ongoing support.
• Ensure platform reliability, system availability, data integrity, security, and compliance with established SLAs.
• Establish and govern CAD standards, engineering workflows, configuration management practices, and engineering data management processes.
• Lead multi-tier support operations (L1, L2 and L3 support), ensuring timely issue resolution and operational excellence.

Lam Research is a leading global manufacturer of capital equipment used in making leading-edge-semiconductors across the world. We primarily compete in four specific areas – deposition, etch, photoresist strip, and single wafer clean.

Many years back, Lam Research embarked on a journey to set up engineering center in Bangalore to expand its reach to Indian talent pool. Over the decade, this center expanded its capability and scope beyond engineering to global manufacturing, supply chain operations and other shared services. One of the major functional groups of this entity is LIGHT (Lam India Global Hardware Technology). LIGHT has completed more than a decade of growth and has emerged as a major new product development and sustaining engineering team for Lam’s global engineering footprint.

Engineering Information Systems is a centralized team and part of LIGHT. The charter of the group is to enable design teams across various Product Groups with CAD & PDM Systems. This is a position at LIGHT EIS team in Bangalore, joining a team of experienced engineers enabling engineering to deliver products through effective utilization of systems.

What you’ll do

Team Leadership & Capability Development
