Job summary

Cummins Inc. in Pune, India, seeks an experienced supply chain professional to plan and manage materials, production, inventory, and logistics, ensuring alignment with business goals and customer requirements.

You will drive forecast accuracy, optimize inventory, collaborate cross‑functionally, and support continuous improvement initiatives while adhering to regulatory and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP planning systems is preferred.
  • Experience using BI tools for inventory optimization and decision‑making is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Execute daily supply chain planning activities across assigned functional areas to ensure uninterrupted operations and customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and maintain planning strategies that improve planning signals and optimize material flow across the supply chain.
  • Monitor, review, and adjust planning parameters within supply chain planning systems to improve forecast accuracy and operational performance.
  • Analyze supply chain data and KPIs to identify trends, performance gaps, root causes, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Identify potential supply chain risks, material shortages, or planning exceptions and implement timely mitigation plans.
  • Collaborate with procurement, manufacturing, logistics, engineering, suppliers, and other cross‑functional stakeholders to resolve planning issues and improve operational performance.
  • Utilize planning systems and supporting analytical tools to manage supply and demand, inventory levels, replenishment, and material availability.
  • Support engineering change management activities, including new part introductions, supersessions, and obsolescence planning while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory.
  • Apply Plan for Every Part (PFEP) principles to improve material flow, inventory management, transportation, warehouse operations, and master data accuracy.
  • Support development and maintenance of Master Supply Schedules to align procurement, production, and replenishment activities with business requirements.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance planning processes, systems, and supply chain performance.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.

Job description

Plans and maintains day-to-day supply chain operations across one or more functional areas, including materials planning, production planning, inventory management, logistics, demand management, customer service, and order fulfillment. Ensures supply chain activities align with business objectives while meeting internal and external customer requirements. Drives planning accuracy, operational efficiency, inventory optimization, and continuous process improvement through effective use of planning systems and cross‑functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

Experience

  • Experience using business intelligence tools and advanced planning systems for inventory optimization and operational decision‑making is an advantage.
  • For senior internal candidates, significant experience leading supply planning and material planning activities within complex manufacturing or global supply chain environments is preferred.
  • Experience collaborating with international suppliers and cross‑functional global teams is desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while effectively collaborating within cross‑functional teams.
Work Schedule & Benefits
  • Shift: Night Shift (5:00 PM – 2:00 AM IST)
  • Night Shift Allowance: Applicable as per company policy.
  • Transportation: Pickup and drop facility available within PMC and PCMC limits.
  • Candidates should be willing to work the designated night shift schedule.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related discipline.
  • Equivalent education and relevant professional experience may be considered where applicable.
