Job summary

Aggreko in Pune, India, is seeking a Supplier Development & Readiness Engineer to develop and industrialize suppliers for production‑ready components, ensuring quality, cost, delivery and technical targets are met.

The role covers supplier selection, tooling development, APQP/PPAP approval, process validation and readiness through SOP and launch support, with a strong emphasis on driving supplier performance and readiness prior to production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Production, or Manufacturing Engineering.
• 7–12 years in supplier development, vendor development, manufacturing engineering, or supplier quality.
• Strong supplier management and ability to lead development from NPI through to production.
• Proficiency with APQP and PPAP and experience in tooling, process development, validation and readiness.

Responsibilities

• Identify, assess, and develop suppliers forHeavy Fabrication, Sheet Metal Components, Welded Assemblies, and related parts.
• Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) supplier activities from nomination to SOP.
• Manage tooling and process development, validation, and related fixtures and gauges.
• Lead APQP and PPAP activities ensuring documents are completed and approved.
• Drive manufacturing readiness and supplier readiness before SOP.
• Pursue supplier quality, delivery, and productivity improvements.

Job description

Bring your energy to Aggreko as Supplier Development & Readiness Engineer. The role is responsible for developing and industrializing suppliers to ensure timely delivery of production-ready components that meet quality, cost, delivery, and technical requirements. The role covers the entire supplier lifecycle from supplier selection, tooling development, APQP/PPAP approval, process validation, and manufacturing readiness through to SOP and launch support.

What You’ll Do

• Supplier Development: Identify, assess, and develop suppliers for Heavy Fabrication, Sheet Metal Components, Welded Assemblies, Fuel Tanks, Base Frames/Skids, Generator Canopies, Powder Coating & Industrial Painting.
• New Product Introduction (NPI): Lead supplier development activities from nomination to SOP.
• Tooling & Process Development: Manage development and validation of tooling, fixtures, gauges, and jigs.
• APQP & PPAP: Lead supplier APQP and PPAP activities, ensuring completion and approval of key documents like APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Process Flow, Control Plans, and Capability Studies.
• Supplier Readiness & Launch: Drive manufacturing, quality, capacity, and supply chain readiness before SOP.
• Supplier Performance Improvement: Drive supplier quality, delivery, and productivity improvements.

You Are

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Production, Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
• 7–12 years in Supplier Development, Vendor Development, Manufacturing Engineering, or Supplier Quality.
• Strong expertise in supplier management, including identification, assessment, and the ability to lead development activities from NPI through to production.
• Proficiency in quality and process methodologies such as APQP and PPAP, with experience in managing tooling, and process development, validation and ensuring manufacturing readiness.
