Job summary

Spectrum Talent Management is seeking a procurement and supplier management professional in Chennai to strengthen the electrical and electronics supplier base. You will coordinate with sourcing, quality, and engineering teams to drive supplier assessments and APQP activities, ensuring timely communication and robust documentation.

The role requires hands-on experience with supplier qualification, PPAPs, and change management, with a focus on First Time Right and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Experience in working with construction equipment industry.
• Experience evaluating potential suppliers in Electrical and Electronics.
• Ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams including sourcing, quality, engineering and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate potential new suppliers in Electrical and Electronics to improve supplier base quality and competitiveness.
• Participate in supplier feasibility reviews to resolve manufacturing and technical feasibility concerns with cross-functional teams.
• Conduct APQP with suppliers focusing on quality, project timings, documentation, and timely communication to all stakeholders.
• Review and approve supplier PPAPs and coach suppliers toward First Time Right (FTR).
• Lead change management driven by supplier part and process changes.
• Collaborate with global SDEs and category managers to evaluate regional suppliers for global needs.
• Support resourcing, localization, VA/VE projects, and ECN implementation through supplier qualification.
• Conduct capacity assessments at suppliers as requested by Category Buyer.
• Support plant quality in managing escalations arising from supplier quality concerns.
• Execute focus supplier projects to improve supplier performance and drive continuous improvement.
• Provide weekly, monthly and ad hoc reports and presentations to leadership.
• Participate in cross-functional team meetings to improve business processes.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

• Evaluate potential new suppliers in Electrical and Electronics Category through a comprehensive assessment process to enhance supplier base quality and competitiveness
• Participate in supplier feasibility reviews to provide vital inputs and work closely with sourcing, quality, engineering, and supplier to resolve manufacturing, technical feasibility related concerns
• Conduct APQP with suppliers with focus on quality, project timings, accurate documentation, and timely communication to all stakeholders
• Review and approve supplier PPAPs while continuously coaching supplier towards achieving First Time Right (FTR) ability
• Lead change management driven by supplier part / process change requests
• Work with global SDEs and category managers from time to time to evaluate regional suppliers for global needs, manage part transfers, help to resolve issues impacting supply chain
• Support resourcing, localization, VA/VE projects, ECN implementation through supplier qualification and part qualification
• Conduct capacity assessments at supplier as and when requested by Category Buyer
• Support plant quality counterpart in managing escalations arising out of supplier quality concerns
• Execute focus supplier’ projects to improve identified supplier’s performance, engagement, and drive continuous improvement culture
• Provide weekly, monthly as well as ad hoc reports and presentations as required by leadership
• Participate in cross functional team meetings and share inputs to enhance business processes
