Job Title

Supplier Development Engineer

Reporting To

Supervisor II, Supply Chain

Work Schedule

Onsite – Bangalore, IN

Responsibilities

• Responsible for suitable supplier identification, evaluation & development to meet product requirements.
• Drive strategies for cost reduction through process optimization and alternate source development.
• Lead new part development for motor components (connectors, wire harness, magnets, laminations, etc.) and electrical drives.
• Collaborate with buyers to mitigate risks associated with regular‑purchase parts.
• Coordinate with the quality department to bring new supplier sources, including initial assessment with audit to ensure supplier capability and quality.
• Finalize price for handled commodities.
• Ensure FAIR & PPAP clearance.
• Drive projects for cost reduction, dual‑source establishment, localization.
• Manage supplier relationship and communication.
• Perform other ad‑hoc duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering.
• 7 to 8 years of experience in strategic sourcing.
• Thorough knowledge of connectors, wire harness, magnets, laminations, and motor building processes.
• Experience handling global suppliers and leading cost reduction projects.
• Strong capability in supplier identification and product development per requirements.
• Proficiency in SAP Material module and drawing interpretation.
• Knowledge of various metals and non‑metals and their usage.
• Experience in motor manufacturing industries is an added advantage.
• Experience working with global and cross‑cultural teams desirable.
