Job summary

RSM Bengaluru is seeking a Supervisor to lead Canadian R&C engagements, perform advanced financial analyses, and ensure compliance with ASPE/IFRS/GAAP. The role emphasizes client service, mentorship, and collaboration with partners and managers across engagement teams.

You will oversee delivery quality, monitor budgets and timelines, and promote process improvements while maintaining strong client relationships and knowledge of industry reporting requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CA Qualified with 4+ years of relevant experience; ACCA/CPA considered.
  • Strong knowledge of ASPE/IFRS/GAAP and financial reporting standards.

Responsibilities

  • Execute core Supervisor functions and support client service delivery.
  • Prepare bookkeeping records and financial statements for compilation and review.
  • Prepare Canadian corporate income tax returns (T2) and ensure compliance.
  • Perform variance, ratio, YoY analyses and cash flow statement prep.
  • Prepare consolidated financial statements per applicable standards.
  • Mentor Senior Associates and Associates; conduct reviews of engagements.
  • Collaborate with engagement partners and managers to ensure quality.
  • Monitor budgets, timelines, productivity, and work plan adherence.
  • Identify delivery risks and resource constraints; escalate proactively.
  • Coordinate with Canada-based teams for effective communication and delivery.

Job description

Job Responsibilities
  • Key responsibilities as outlined in the job summary include executing core functions of the Supervisor role, contributing to team objectives, maintaining quality standards, and supporting client service delivery.
  • Prepare bookkeeping records and financial statements for compilation and review engagements.
  • Prepare Canadian corporate income tax returns (T2) and ensure compliance with relevant tax regulations.
  • Perform financial analysis, including variance analysis, ratio analysis, year-over-year (YoY) analysis, and cash flow statement preparation for review engagements.
  • Prepare consolidated financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
  • Apply technical knowledge of ASPE, IFRS, and GAAP to ensure accurate and compliant financial reporting.
  • Perform first-level technical reviews for compilation engagements and in-charge reviews for review engagements.
  • Collaborate closely with engagement partners and managers to deliver high-quality client engagements.
  • Monitor engagement progress, budgets, timelines, productivity, and work plan adherence.
  • Identify and proactively escalation delivery risks, delays, client dependencies, and resource constraints.
  • Supervise, coach, and review the work of Senior Associates and Associates across Canadian R&C engagements.
  • Provide constructive feedback, mentorship, and development opportunities to support team growth and performance.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment focused on service excellence.
  • Partner with Canada-based engagement teams and clients to facilitate effective communication and information flow.
  • Follow up on outstanding requests, resolve open items, and ensure timely completion of deliverables.
  • Develop a strong understanding of client businesses, industries, reporting requirements, and compliance obligations to deliver value-added insights.
  • Utilize and promote RSM's review and compilation methodologies and best practices.
  • Contribute innovative ideas and process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality.
  • Effectively leverage internal systems, tools, and technology to streamline engagement delivery.
  • Take ownership of assigned deliverables and consistently meet internal and external deadlines.
  • Manage smaller engagement clusters and facilitate regular cluster calls.
  • Coordinate international job allocations and resource planning in collaboration with Resource Management teams.
  • Support workforce planning to ensure optimal utilization and delivery capacity.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Non-Qualified: 6+ Years of relevant experience.
  • CA Qualified + 4 years relevant experience, ACCA/CPA qualified + 5 years relevant experience.
